St. Paul Lutheran Church and School Bonduel, Wisconsin November 24/25, 2018 The Last Sunday of the Church Year Welcome to the House of the Lord We believe in the Creator. We believe the Father sent the Son. We believe Jesus is the Christ, the Savior of the world. We believe His promises. We believe the Holy Spirit is at work creating and sustaining faith. We believe Jesus, the Son of Man will return. We believe in the final Judgment Day. We believe in the heavenly home. We continue our three week series on eschatology, the end times. Last week, Troubles a Comin. This week, The Son of Man is Coming. Next week, Judgment Day is Coming. T T T Opening Hymn 663 Rise, My Soul, to Watch and Pray Confession and Absolution page 184 Psalmody Psalm 93 The LORD reigns; he is robed in majesty; the LORD is robed; he has put on strength as his belt. Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved. Your throne is established from of old; you are from everlasting. The floods have lifted up, O LORD, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their roaring. Mightier than the thunders of many waters, mightier than the waves of the sea, the LORD on high is mighty! Your decrees are very trustworthy; holiness befits your house, O LORD, for- evermore. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Salutation and Prayer of the Day The Lord be with you. And with thy spirit. Let us pray. Lord Jesus Christ, so govern our hearts and minds by Your Holy Spirit that, ever mindful of Your glorious return, we may persevere in both faith and holiness of living; for You live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen. Old Testament Reading Daniel 7:9 10, 13 14 9 As I looked, thrones were placed, and the Ancient of days took his seat; his clothing was white as snow, and the hair of his head like pure wool; his throne was fiery flames; its wheels were burning fire. 10 A stream of fire issued and came out from before him; a thousand thousands served him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him; the court sat in judgment, and the books were opened. 13 I saw in the night visions, and behold, with the clouds of heaven there came one like a son of man, and he came to the Ancient of Days and was presented before him. 14 And to him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him; his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom one that shall not be destroyed. This is the Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. Epistle Reading Revelation 1:4b 8 Grace to you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne, 5 and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood 6 and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. 7 Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so. Amen. 8 I am the Alpha and the Omega, says the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty. This is the Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.

Holy Gospel The Holy Gospel according to St. Mark, the thirteenth chapter. Glory be to Thee, O Lord. In those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, 25 and the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. 26 And then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. 27 And then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven. 28 From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near. 29 So also, when you see these things taking place, you know that he is near, at the very gates. 30 Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. 31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. 32 But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 33 Be on guard, keep awake. For you do not know when the time will come. 34 It is like a man going on a journey, when he leaves home and puts his servants in charge, each with his work, and commands the doorkeeper to stay awake. 35 Therefore stay awake for you do not know when the master of the house will come, in the evening, or at midnight, or when the cock crows, or in the morning 36 lest he come suddenly and find you asleep. 37 And what I say to you I say to all: Stay awake. This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise be to Thee, O Christ. Apostles' Creed page 192 or inside back cover of hymnal Good News for Kids Hymn 515 Rejoice, Rejoice, Believers Sermon The Son of Man will Come (Daniel 7) Offertory Hymn 956 Create in Me Offering

A Litany of Time to Come He who came as Savior foretells of the ending of time. He says, Nation will rise against nation, And kingdom against kingdom. And brother will deliver brother over to death, And the father his child. and the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. And then the end. Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him Then Judgment and the books were opened. I am the Alpha and the Omega, says the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty. Come Lord Jesus! Come!
