jhy Wo je Wo jhat je Wo? Matthew 6: 1 4; 25: 31 46 That is the question or is that in question? In Matthew 25:40 Jesus said, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. In Matthew 6:2, Jesus said, Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do.that they may have glory of men.they have their reward. While in my closet, I could hear the words, What Have You Done For Me Lately? I first thought, I know that s not Janet Jackson talking in my closet! Then after laughing, I thought no, the Lord is asking us that question. Many times knowingly or unknowingly, we do things we think are for the Lord s Glory. But if the truth be told, they are really for our little glory and benefit. During this closet time, I was thinking about the great need and burden to feed the hungry and clothe the naked around the world. So many times we are so focused on us, that we forget the needs of others and what Jesus said about that. If you did it unto them you did it unto me; but, if you didn t do it for them you didn t do it for me! Therefore what you did for yourself, you have your reward. What have you done for Christ lately that did not include a personal motive for why you did what you did? Why did you open that door? Why did you ask if you could help that person? Did you stay late or show up early for work to be seen or because it was time for your performance review? Was it all about Christ, or some about you? I wonder why we do what we do. Do you know? Let s ask the Lord to show us if our motives are right. If they are then stay on course. If they aren t, now is the perfect time to ask the Holy Spirit to change our heart. Why do we do what you do? My God Continue to Bless you! Bishop Kemp Preached by Bishop Kemp in Afghanistan on Sunday September 27, 2009
W hat would you do if individuals came into your neighborhood, killed your family and your neighbors, burned homes and churches? In August, a mob of over 1,000 Muslims attacked two of our Christian Villages killings several of our Pastors and their families. They burned over 100 Christian homes and several of our House Churches. All this A father has died. death and destruction occurred because of a rumor a Christian boy had torn the pages of the Koran. It was a rumor later proven false. It took more than five hours for emergency personnel to reach the mob scene. By that time, eight Christians were dead, 100 Christian homes and one church building were burned. Christians had to use vegetable carts to transport dead and wounded family members to the hospital. Burnt items in a home. As a result, we now have several hundred homeless and grieving Christian brothers and sisters; and, families without shelter, food, clothing, water, and other life-support and essential needs. Our help is desperately needed! In lieu of conducting a Healing Crusade in October, we are planning a Restoration Mission and Healing Tour. It s important for our Pakistani Christian brothers and sisters to know that we love and support them. But, we can t do it alone. Women are crying for loss of loved ones. We are asking you to pray and ask the Lord how you can help. We ve embarked on a two-month pledge drive before we travel to Pakistan; and, with your help we can do some great things in the name of the Lord. See the Pledge Form on page 5. If you would like to speak to a representative, please call 919.455.6930. This is a great opportunity to sow a seed into the Kingdom of God. Christian brothers are preparing food for Christian Colony in Gojra. We must choose what to wear, what to eat, whether to go to work or to stay at home, how we ll treat others in a particular situation, and the list goes on. Whether we are in public or at home, we are presented with choices whether to live a life of integrity or degradation. Even most responsible parents begin developing coping skills in their children by giving them the opportunity to make ageappropriate choices at a very young age. Whether we work inside or outside the home, we face multiple dilemmas. Will I be diligent in my work? Or, will I be lazy in my tasks? Will I pretend to work when my supervisor is watching? Or, will I exaggerate my work load? Should I pass my responsibilities on to others? Will I place my co-workers in a position to compromise their integrity? Just as we are judged by the company we keep, we are also judged by the choices we make. There are consequences to each decision and every choice we make affects someone else. by Lady Pamela So, what choice will you make today? Do you choose life or death? Do you choose a blessing or a curse? Do you choose health or sickness? Do you choose to walk in the fruit of the Spirit or the works of the flesh? Do you choose to live a life of excellence, purity and honesty; or, a life of mediocre, uncleanness, and deceit? The choice indeed is yours!
