Call to Order: Mrs. Johnson called the meeting to order at 3:00PM. II. FOIA: Notice of this meeting has been published and posted in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act and the requirements of the Town of Kiawah Island. III. Ms. Rush stated that the poster for Piccolo Comes to Kittiwah is complete. She stated that the Office of Cultural Affairs is still confirming the program but that it is a possibility that Charlton Singelton will be performing. VII. Association email distribution list and promote Alumni to attend. Mrs. Johnson stated that $450 has to be added to the artist cost for food. Mr. Blizard stated that Bria Skonberg will need backline. Mrs. Johnson stated that $500 needs to be added to miscellaneous costs. Ms. Rush confirmed that the Council will be using Ron Wiltrout for backline services for Bria Skonberg, Bill Charlap, and Fred Hersch. Mrs. Chitwood stated that Fred Hersch is a Steinway artist and requires a 9 ft. Steinway piano. She stated that he requires two piano tunings; one prior to practice and one prior to the performance. Mrs. Johnson asked Mrs. Chitwood to confirm if that was really necessary. Mrs. Hilstad stated that Simone Porter will play with an accompanist and arrange for her own transportation. She stated we are adding $500 to the artist cost help with transportation. Mrs. Johnson stated that the Charleston Symphony Orchestra will include the concert on the House Tour poster, but will also make a separate poster for the concert.

The Council decided to release 4 tickets per person for the Moranz Kiawah Christmas Special. Mrs. Chitwood stated that the spreadsheet is inaccurate for Wycliff Gordon. The artist cost is $10,000 and which he will take care of his travel and food costs. The Town will charge a $10 ticket (profit resides with the Town) and then Council will pay for the venue, accommodations, backline, piano and tuning. Ms. Rush stated that for Bill Charlap Trio, the artist cost is $10,000 and which he will take care of his own food costs. Ms. Rush stated that he requires a 9ft. piano The Council discussed promoting Hello Pops, Bill Charlap Trio and Jazz Inspired as a Jazz Festival Series. The Council discussed scheduling options for Quentin Baxter presents. Mrs. Chitwood stated that Quentin has one date finalized for Sunday, January 8 th featuring Houston Person. The Council discussed only sponsoring one Piccolo event. B. Committee Sounding Board Mrs. Chitwood stated Freddie Cole is interested in coming back to Kiawah. VIII. Correspondence: None IX. Committee Member Comments Mrs. Johnson stated that the August meeting will be cancelled. She stated that the Council needs to turn in event planning forms soon. She stated that first Tuesday in June is the second reading of the Town s budget. She stated that Town Council reported that the Town has settled the lawsuit with Dennis McGill.

Mr. Hill stated that he met with the new event coordinator at Bishop Gadsden. He is investigating the concept with the resort of possibly offering dinner packages to coincide with some Arts Council events. Ms. Collar stated she needs to look at dates for Piano Bars. Ms. Rush thanked the Council for their help at Piccolo Preview. X. Citizens Comments: XI. Adjournment Mr. Blizard motioned to adjourn the meeting at 4:00 PM. Ms. Rush seconded the motion.
