WORSHIP NEWS Contact: Wayne Efferson, Director of Worship, 490-1352 x 206 or natwe@nativityparish.com WITH GRATITUDE AND REVERENCE SUNDAY, JUNE 7 The solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi) is this Sunday, June 7 this year. As with every time we come together to celebrate Eucharist ( thanks the ordinary way of saying thank you ) we come with a special sense of gratitude and reverence as we receive Christ s Body and Blood. This great gift of the Lord s presence is something that each of us must generously and joyfully share with others, both in the ministry of communion and in our ordinary Christian lives. In the ministry of communion, many have found a deep sense of gratitude and reverence of sharing the Body and Blood of Christ as a Eucharistic Minister. The Worship Commission welcomes and is in need of new Eucharistic Ministers to assist with the distribution of Holy Communion at all Mass times. Won t you pray and see if God might be calling you to this ministry? LITURGICAL MINISTERS All Liturgical Ministers the Spring/Summer Schedule is available to download/print from the parish website or pick up a copy from the Parish Office. TAIZE PRAYER Wednesday, June 17-6:30 PM Chapel This contemplative style of prayer is a great way to unwind after a day of play, work, or heavy shopping. Come experience the solitude. VIDEO PROJECTION SYSTEM MINISTRY The Worship Commission is introducing a new ministry. We are looking for individuals willing to operate our new video projection system each Sunday. Training is minimal, and operation of the system is simple. READINGS FOR THE WEEK Monday: 2 Cor 1:1-7; Ps 34:2-9; Mt 5:1-12 Tuesday: 2 Cor 1:18-22; Ps 119:129-133, 135; Mt 5:13-16 Wednesday: 2 Cor 3:4-11; Ps 99:5-9; Mt 5:17-19 Thursday: Acts 11:21b-26; 13:1-3; Ps 85:9ab, 10-14; Mt 5:20-26 Friday: Hos 11:1, 3-4, 8c-9; Is 12:2-6; Eph 3:8-12, 14-19; Jn 19:31-37 Saturday: 2 Cor 5:14-21; Ps 103:1-4, 9-12; Mt 5:33-37 or, for the Memorial of the Immaculate Heart, Is 61:9-11; 1 Sam 2:1, 4-8abcd; Lk 2:41-51 Sunday: Ez 17:22-24; Ps 92:2-3, 13-16 MASS TIMES Now through September 2 All Wednesday Masses will be at 9:00 AM instead of 8:00 AM. LET S MAKE OUR HOUSE INVITING On any given week there are at least 2000 worshippers who come through our church doors to celebrate the Eucharist (Mass). With all those worshippers comes a messy pew e.g. songbooks, pew cards not properly stored in the hymnal racks and/or bulletins and trash left in the pew after Mass. In an effort to keep our House of God fresh and inviting for the next group of worshippers, we ask you to help keep the pews in an orderly fashion when you leave. Currently the Ushers try their best to clean up after each Mass, and the Church Helpers come once a week to clean the candle stands and holy water bowls, in addition to recycling the bulletins and attending to the pews. Let s make our house inviting by storing the pew cards inside the songbooks, with the songbooks stored horizontally with the spine facing up. This little habit done over and over each time you come to Mass will truly help make our church inviting for all who enter these doors. Please keep the family of Lenard LaBonte in your prayers. FEED MY STARVING CHILDREN Thank you to all who have supported the Feed My Starving Children M&M tube sale in May. You are reminded to fill the tubes with quarters throughout the summer and deposit your donations in the globe in the Narthex. At a cost of 22 cents per meal, each quarter will literally feed a child. M&M tubes are available by the globe in the Narthex for those who may not have been at mass the weekend of the FMSC kickoff. A dollar donation is requested to cover the cost of the M&Ms. We ask that you then use the tubes to collect quarters. We invite you to see the impact of your quarters by packing meals at the upcoming Green Bay Feed My Starving Children Mobilepack October 5-9. Stay tuned, volunteer sign up will begin in August. Thank you for joining this community effort to reach across the globe and answer the call to feed the hungry. 7
