BBC Update Ireland Module The Lord blessed during the week of May 30th through June 3rd in the two modules in Leixlip, Ireland. Several new seminarians as well as the regulars enjoyed the courses Psalm 119 and the Prison Epistles. The weather was beautiful with warm sunny days, apparently unusual for damp Ireland. The host pastor and his wife, Dr. and Mrs. Robert Zemeski, Dr. Thomas Strouse were very gracious as they ministered to guests in their home and church. The Zemeskis have the unique and distinct honor of being the only recent Baptist missionaries to Ireland to start an independent Baptist church and turn it over to a national. This of course is the goal of foreign missions! Bible Baptist Theological Seminary Europe has enrolled over sixty seminarians since 2004 and graduated nine men with seminary degrees. This is the fruit of the initial and ongoing burden to train men in the Scripture in foreign lands as well as at home. By God s grace and help, these men will perpetuate church truth, as the Apostle Paul enjoined, saying, And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. (II Tim. 2:2). BBC Update Vol. 7 Num. 12 1 Ireland Module seminarians. (More Photos Page 5)... June 15, 2016

Book Review Book Review 4 Geocentricity and Dr. Gerardus D. Bouw Book Review Gerardus D. Bouw, Geocentricity: Christianity in the Woodshed (Cleveland: The Association for Biblical Astronomy, 2013), 799 pp. It may come to the surprise of many that secular scientists affirm that Heliocentricity is not a proven fact. In fact, Sir Fredrick Hoyle posited the neutral statement about cosmological models, saying, We now know that the difference between a heliocentric theory and a geocentric theory is one of relative motion only, and that such a difference has no physical significance. When the modern Creationist movement began in 1961 with the publication of The Genesis Flood by Morris and Whitcomb, there was really no serious opposition to Creationism or to Geocentricity from evolutionary scientists. Among Christians there was excitement that the literal interpretation of Genesis Chapter One may be defended by Christians who were also scientists, giving reasonable scientific explanations which harmonized with Scripture. Verses twenty through thirty-one in Genesis Chapter One received literal interpretation for the biblical account of the creation of animal and man, therefore repudiating evolution. Of course, these verses were built upon verses two through nineteen, which interpretation is obviously and irrefragably geocentric in their telling. As the creationist patriarchs (Morris, Gish, Slusher, etc.) pondered that overall literal message of Genesis One, a Bob Jones University science professor compelled them to interpret the first half of Genesis One with the phenomenological approach, abandoning scriptural Geocentricity on the exclusive basis of scientific rationale. Thus, the roaring lion of Creationism lost its teeth at the outset of the Creationist-Evolutionist debate since the Bible was not to be taken seriously. Consequently, evolutionists ignored the geocentric Bible and professed Bible-believers dismissed geocentric passages of Scripture (e.g., Gen. 1:2-19; Josh. 10:12-13; Ps. 19:4-6; Eccl. 1:5-8; Isa. 38:8; Mt. 5:45, et al) with the phenomenological approach of appearance and not of reality. Apparently, when the precious Saviour said That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust (Mt. 5:45), what He really meant was that the Father does not make the sun to rise (because atheistic evolutionists say so), you just think it moves, and I am going to perpetuate this erroneous perception, deceiving you about reality with phenomenological explanations. Dr. Gerardus Bouw, contemporary PhD. scientist, Christian, and sometime antagonist among the twentieth century creationists, has written another valuable work entitled Geocentricity: Christianity in the Woodshed. He exposes the fatal weakness to Christian Creationist apologetics which for the most part rejects the geocentric Scriptures and essentially phenomenologicalizes hundreds of Bible verses and expressions. He lays out the key biblical passages of Geocentricity and the self-evident literal interpretation of each, deals with the unique fixed earth passages, reveals the history of Geocentricity and Heliocentricity, exposes the failed scientific attempts to measure the earth s movement, refutes the so-called proofs

Geocentricity Book Review for Heliocentricity such as Coriolis Effect and Foucault Pendulum, and even mentions how the Flat Earth Society s effort to identify with Geocentricity fell off the edge. His almost eight hundred page volume is well written and documented, and should prove a challenge to Christians who have been unknowingly indoctrinated by secular science or influenced by Creationist gurus who do not countenance certain inconvenient passages, such as the geocentric passage of Genesis 1:2-19. For instance, when did the earth begin to move around the sun since the sun was created four days after the earth? Secularists dismiss the entire Bible, heliocentric Creationists dismiss parts of the Bible, but Bible-believers receive all of the Creator s truth. O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called (I Tim. 6:20). Be Diligent Devotional Corner Be Diligent 6 Devotional Corner Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15). Pastor Cas Reeves We find the word study used in a very interesting way in our text. The Greek word spoudazo translated here means to use speed as being eager or earnest or prompt. In our text, it is a command, to make effort or be diligent. In 2 Corinthians 8:22, the word diligent is describing zealous. The word show is the Greek word praistemi meaning to stand beside or exhibit, The idea is to stand an present. And example would be an Olympic contestant who presents himself for an award at the finish of an event. We find another word, approved. In Greek dokimos meaning acceptable. The idea is approved or acceptable by trial. It is good for us to remember as we travel through life s journey that one day we will stand to present ourselves for God s approval. As Christians, we should be studious or diligent in our labors, knowing that Every man s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man s work of what sort it is. If any man s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward (1 Corinthians 3:13-14). -CAR Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. II Timothy 2:15 We, who are the workmen of God, are commanded to make an earnest effort, to be diligent in our labors and especially in our words charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit (2 Timothy 2:14). We do this in order to stand acceptable or present ourselves approved before God. This is done successfully by rightly dividing the word of truth. Quotes From the Past: Nathan Hale American Patriot 1755-1776 The Greek word orthotomeo means to make a straight cut. The idea is that from years of cutting, or experience with perhaps a knife, a scissors or a plow, that one is able to cut a straight line or rightly divide. In this case, we are to be eager or diligent in presenting ourselves or standing successfully approved before God, as a workmen, who has skillfully been using the word of truth. Natathan Hale I greatly fear some of America s greatest and most dangerous enemies are such as think themselves her best friends.

Article for Women Grow in Grace Grow in Grace for Women Read: Luke 14 Luke 14:21 So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind. Grow in Grace Reflection: Our heavenly Father is expressing anger at the self-sufficiency and pride of the Jews who rejected the Lord Jesus Christ as the Messiah. He then offers Salvation to include the Gentiles. Romans 3:29 Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also: The Lord gave Himself for the salvation of the world, He died on a cross and took our sin upon Himself, He was buried but the grave could not hold Him, He rose and sits at the right hand of the Father. A Banquet is prepared for those who will repent and believe on His name. He also has prepared a place for those who put their faith in Him. 7 Article for Women John 14:2 In my Father s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. Challenge: Does the Lord have your heart and life? Do your daily choices and decisions reflect this? Are you sharing the Gospel with others? Growing in Grace A 12 Week Devotional for Women King James Version Elena Sherwood Growing in Grace: A 12 Week Devotional for Women This 12 Week Devotional is a ministry of Bible Baptist Church in Cromwell, CT. It is designed for women, and is meant as a support for victory in daily Christian living. Spiritual victory comes by having the Genuine Christ, Accurate Biblical Teaching, Applying the Infallible Word of God, and a Humble Heart. Using this Devotional Each day you will be given a daily Scripture followed by thoughts upon which to reflect and a challenge for the day. To get the most out of this book, it is encouraged that you take the time each morning to reflect upon and apply each devotion. Psalm 119:2 Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart. Please contact Bible Baptist Church (Elenas6259@ gmail.com) if you would like a complimentary copy.
