Prophetic Group UNIT 2: COMPASSION FOR OTHERS

Activation Ask God, what percentage of peace you are currently feeling? (0% to 100%) Ask God, was my peace stolen or did I give it away? Ask God, can I have that peace back? Forgive anyone you need to Release to God any situation or burden Now what is your peace percentage?

Recap: Jesus is our example For I have not spoken on my own authority, but the Father who sent me has himself given me a commandment what to say and what to speak. -John 12:49 So Jesus said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise. - John 5:19 The Father seems to be continually speaking and showing, and Jesus continually watching and listening.

Recap Abiding Abiding in God s love As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. - John 15:9 Identity as children: for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. - Galatians 3:26 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. - John 12:27 Practical Steps Journal - write down what God says to you directly or through others Spend time listening through the week Let God choose the topic Did you take time this past week to listen?

LOVE: God and man Which commandment is the most important of all? Jesus answered, The most important is.and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these. Mark 12:29-31 As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. John 15:9 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. - John 13:34

Love: one another The message you heard from the very beginning is this: we must love one another. -1 John 3:11 No one has ever seen God, but if we love one another, God lives in union with us, and his love is made perfect in us. -1 John 4:12 My children, our love should not be just words and talk; it must be true love, which shows itself in action. -1 John 3:18 Above everything, love one another earnestly, because love covers over many sins. -1 Peter 4:8

Jesus as our Example John the Baptist is murdered Jesus tries to get away Jesus has compassion and heals the sick Preaches about Kingdom and feeds 5000 Matthew 14:12-23 And his disciples came and took the body and buried it, and they went and told Jesus.13 Now when Jesus heard this, he withdrew from there in a boat to a desolate place by himself. But when the crowds heard it, they followed him on foot from the towns. 14 When he went ashore he saw a great crowd, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick.. Then he ordered the crowds to sit down on the grass, and taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and said a blessing. And those who ate were about five thousand men, besides women and children. Immediately he made the disciples get into the boat and go before him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowds. And after he had dismissed the crowds, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray.

Love Agape God s love Inexplicable Unconditional Phileo brotherly love A people you relate to (same struggles or interests) A people you have compassion because of their history Example: I once knew this girl and no one liked her, she acted out and was generally mean. After awhile it came to light that she was being abused and both her parents went to prison. God said, some people loved her after they heard her story because then they had perspective. But true love, loved her before they knew her story. Most of the time we do not know a person s story.

The Church Let your speech always be gracious -Colossians 4:6 addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs -Ephesians 5:19 Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word [rhema], so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. Ephesians 5:25-27

Activation: Repentance From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so. Does a spring pour forth from the same opening both fresh and salt water? -James 3:10-11 Let s ask Jesus to reveal to us any times we have been critical or slanderous Take a quiet moment of repentance Confess times you have made self deprecating remarks I am stupid or I cannot do this. Authority prayer

Video Clip Graham Cooke who writes books and does conferences on the prophetic for many years. Listen to how much of what he says is from the Scripture Becoming the Beloved by Graham Cooke

Truth Statements What are some of the things we can say to one another? I am chosen of God, holy and dearly loved. (Col. 3:12; 1 Thessalonians 1:4) I am forgiven and blameless. (1 John 2:12,Colossians 1:22) I have been made complete in Christ. (Colossians 2:10) I am a son of light and not of darkness. (1 Thessalonians 5:5) I have been given a spirit of power, love, and self-discipline. (2 Timothy 1:7) I am a holy partaker of a heavenly calling. (Hebrews 3:1) I have the right to come boldly before the throne of God to find mercy and grace in a time of need. (Hebrews4:16) I am one of God s living stones, being built up in Christ as a spiritual house. (1 Peter 2:5) I am anointed by God. (1 John 2:27) I am a child of God. (1 John 3:1,2) I am loved. (1 John 4:10)

Activation Sometimes Scripture is the best prophetic word Write a few truth/blessing statements you hear about the person on your right (Use the previous slide for inspiration)

Activation Last time we asked God what He wanted to do with us. Today let s ask for someone else. Ask God about the person on your left what is something you see or hear that God might want to do with them? (maybe you see them flying a paper airplane with God) It can be a literal thing to do or a figurative picture.

Homework Get a journal specifically for what you hear God say or prophetic words others give you Questions to ask God: Ask God, what is my percentage of joy (peace, authority, self-control, faith,. and then where did I lose any of it or give it away? What do You like about me? What do You think about another person? What do You think about this situation or news? Are there any gifts You want to give me to unwrap? If I were sitting with You right now, what would we be doing?
