Vol. II Friday, March 22, 1935 STOW, OHIO No 12 MINISTER'S COLUMN All is not gold that glitters. So Achan in the "Bible story ; made this discovery. He got the wedge of gold, but he lost, lost all. "Diamonds, that's what I need," spoke the ofd farmer. "Diamonds, ytes diamonds. They glitter, twinkle like the stars. Now,< safid he, "If I had diamond^ my three daughters could command the crown heads of Europe. Diamonds, yes diamonds, I must have." So he sold his farm and" traveled in Quest of diamonds. Long and far irnd diligent,wa s his search, but nary a diamond. Farm gone, home gofte, not a I dime left, health gone,' hope gone, so he casts himself in x to the sea. He, to*o, made the discovery. All is no t gold that glitters. Beware, my friencf, everywhere you meet confidence men, rascals, impostors, i sharpers, human leech- es that go up and down the earth and prey upon humanity. They offer much for nothing, they are p.aijistaking in advising you how to get rich quick, they sell you a gold brick, at le'ast you hope it is, but to your sorrow you make the discovery, all is not gold that glitters. So be careful, my friend, don't plunge, don't be reckless. Poise is the word, be calm in your $oui. There are invisible /forces : that will guide you, know them, trust them, command them. One who loves you-does not will that you should drift like a deserted hulk on the stream of life. Quit running at your own will, illuding lights across the moors are deceiving. Don't think yourself intelligent enough to make the run of life's day without compass, chart or guide. Mark' it well, sir, all lis not gold that glitters. Broken hearts sob their bitter cry, they sink to rise no more, they strew the way. of. life with human wreckage, alas, they thirsted for the glitter. Take God's gold, my' friend, -.make the church your ( choice. Come, claim heir-ship to qualities that abide. Thi s Easter time skek tfye. better values, you" will find it pays. Refuse to wander on and on through the years without heeding the warning, ALL IS NOT GOLD THAT GLITTERS. GEO;. M. HULME, Minister CARD OF THANKS ' To the many friends who helped us and befriended us in so many ways during our recent bereavement, we wish to express our 'gratitude and thanks. It is our hope that our little girl may ifot have lived in vain.
