Community Spotlight Rev. Scott Lambert July is here! Wow, 6 months until Christmas! Isn t that hard to believe? As we approach this month, we can t help but think about July the 4th and what it means. It is a day each of us are allowed to celebrate our independence. But we must never forget the price that was paid by so many who fought and so many that still fight for us each day. As we celebrate with each other, talking and laughing, eating watermelon and barbecue, let s remember the reason we have the freedom to do so. I can t help but remember another freedom that we have also. We can live our lives in total peace with joy, comfort and happiness because of what our Savior has done for us. He gave his life on our behalf so that we could have assurance of eternal life to come for us in Heaven. Now we know that there are folks that will condemn us for different things, but doesn t it comfort your heart to know what God s word teaches us in Romans Chapter 8? There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. Wow, that excites me! Doesn t it you? Jesus says in John 3:17 For God did send his son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through him might be saved. Wow, you and I win when we belong to Jesus. Happy 4th and happy July. Remember, I love each of you, and I m here for you, day or night. July Fun Facts Canada celebrates 2 days of Independence in July Canada Day on July 1st and Bastille Day on July 14th. If you were born in July, your birth flowers are the larkspur and water lily. Independence Day became a federal holiday in 1870. Today, the original copy of the Declaration is housed in the National Archives in Washington, D.C. The first July 4th fireworks display occurred during the Revolutionary War. Some historians believe this display was meant to boost morale. Welcome New Residents!
