The LORD look upon you kindly and give you peace! (Numbers 6:22-27). Psalm - May God bless us in his mercy (Psalm 67). Second Reading - God sent the Spirit of the Son into our hearts, crying out, Abba, Father! So you are no longer a slave but an heir, through God (Galatians 4:4-7). Gospel - The shepherds glorified and praised God for all they had heard and seen (Luke 2:16-21). THE BLESSING WE RECEIVE The blessing we experience in Christ Jesus is proclaimed in Numbers as the special blessing for the people of Israel. They and we are to be blessed by the invocation of God s loving kindness, the shining glory of God s face turned toward us in love, not away from us in anger. We are blessed by God s own peace! Our wish and our hope are fulfilled in this blessing, which is made visible in the coming of Jesus. In Jesus, the image of the invisible God, God s face is shown to us and God s presence is made known to us in faithful and loving kindness. Copyright J. S. Paluch Co.

OLP 31 Club Praying for vocations every day of the year! Members of the 31 Club agree to go to daily Mass on a particular day every month and offer that Mass for an increase of vocations to the Church. There is a great need for vocations in the Church today. One of the best ways to increase vocations is through prayer, and the greatest prayer we have is the holy sacrifice of the Mass. Upcoming Mass commitments: Jan. 1: Maxine R., Mark S., Evelyn V., Pat B. Jan. 2: Kathy W., Deacon Dennis K. Jan. 3: Sister Peggy, Linda D., Wilma M., Virginia S. Jan. 4: Arlene B. Jan. 5: Ed B., Joyce K., Chuck & Linda R. Jan. 6: Maxine B., Denise & Michael G., Bernie H., Susan F. Jan. 7: Margaret K. If you would like to join the OLP 31 Club, please call Dave or Kathy Wayman at 454-8974. There are no dues, no meetings, only opportunities for grace and the satisfaction that comes from helping to fulfill a great need in the Church. When going to Mass offer the Mass for Vocations by praying the prayer below... Serra Prayer for Vocations O God, who wills not the death of a sinner * but rather that he be converted and live * grant we beseech you * through the intercession of the Blessed Mary, ever Virgin * Saint Joseph, her spouse * St. Junipero Serra * and all the saints * an increase of laborers for your Church * fellow laborers with Christ to spend and consume themselves for souls * through the same Jesus Christ * Your Son * Who lives and reigns with You * In the unity of the Holy Spirit * God forever * and ever. Amen.
