May God bless this time together. UBC Family News CONGRATULATIONS UBC congratulates the following families on taking the faith step today of `Child Dedication`. A child dedication is a setting apart of a child who is a gift from the Lord. It is a prayer for and pronouncement of God s blessing upon that life. It is a promise made by the parents and the church community to raise that child in the love of God so as to lead that child to faith in Jesus Christ and to a life of Christian discipleship. May God Bless and Protect these children and their parents. Parents Joe & Tiana Lynch Chris & Rachael Child Charlotte Jill Ocean Aleksander

Opportunities to Serve & Give CHRISTMAS HAMPER OUTREACH-2018 Each year, UBC is invited to participate in this worth-while cause (it s run in conjunction with The Loaves and Fishes Food Bank). It is a meaningful way to reach out into our community and support families at what is often a difficult time of year. It is called a Hamper outreach because we put together all the fixings for a Christmas Dinner (and make a hamper to hold it all). We also purchase a gift for each member of the family. We try and sponsor as many as 5 or 6 families each year. We are asking for you to consider participating in one of many ways: Purchase a gift for a family member (you will be given information as to gender, age, size, etc.) Purchase one or more food items (a list will be given) Give money towards the purchase of a gift or food (someone else can do the shopping if you can t) Further details will follow and a sign-up will happen later in November. Right now, we just need to know if you are willing to be involved! This helps us to plan and to know how many families we can commit to helping. If you belong to a small group, why not sign up as a team and take on a whole family? Please indicate your intentions by e-mailing Kathleen Kennedy at kathleenkennedy92@gmail.com or send a text to 647-458- 2459. This will help tremendously and your involvement will go a long way to bless those in need right here in Uxbridge. WITHIN THE CHURCH: JR. CHURCH Junior Church happens during the worship service time and is for children in JK and SK. If you have any questions and/or are able to help, please contact either Pastor Kathy or the Jr. Church Supervisor Rose Evans. SUNDAY SCHOOL Sunday School is looking to add teachers to their team this season. If you have any questions and/or are able to help, please contact Tim Merrill. COMMUNION If you are able to help prepare the communion elements on a rotational basis, please speak to Adelle in the office or with Judy Pali.

Prayer & Scripture Corner You are invited to the Monday Night Prayer Meeting. Come and Add Your Voice to the Prayers of our Church and our Community. All are welcome. The meetings are held weekly at 7pm in the Overflow room (at the top of the stairs from the main parking lot doors). PRAYER FOR STRENGTH, HEALING AND COMFORT Lord, you are our healer, our Great Physician, you know our needs and the needs of those in our congregation and our community. We pray for those who need your healing touch, we pray for those who need your restoration of body, of mind, of soul. We pray for those who are shut-in, grieving, or lonely. Lord, we ask that you would strengthen and guide with your compassion and grace. In Your Son s Holy name, we pray. Amen. PRAYER FOR THE GHANA MEDICAL MISSION TEAM November 9-25 Many of you enjoyed keeping up to date with our team blog updates last year, and although you were signed up last year, you do need to subscribe once again to get the posts emailed to you again this year. If you would rather follow the team on Facebook, feel free to follow "Ghana Rural Integrated Development (GRID)" The team is SO thankful for all of the prayers and support of so many over these past many years. Feel free to respond to the blog posts as your notes are sent to the team, & read out at the end of the day as an encouragement.
