Meditations On The Story Of Christ Light print: Presider Bold Print: Participants Opening Devotions In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Lord, have mercy. Our Father who art in heaven hallowed be thy Name thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our as we forgive those who trespass against us And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen

Meditation 1: The Annunciation Because by the Annunciation Mary was given the news she was chosen by God to bear His only Son. God did not withhold Himself But utilized His angels to bring Good News to the Virgin Mary. Holy God, Holy and Mighty, Holy Immortal One, have mercy upon us. (x3) Meditation 2: Shepherds hear the News Because by your shepherds came Good News of the birth of our Savior The Lord has given this Good News for all For the Lord our God is our Good Shepherd Who lays down His life for the flock

Meditation 3: The birth of Jesus Because through Your incarnation we have come to know You deeper We will glory in the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. In Whom is our salvation, our new life and resurrection. Surely He has become flesh And dwelt among us. Meditation 4: The Presentation at the Temple Because through Your servants Simeon and Anna news of Your salvation came to the world Their words were prophetic and meant for all That the stumbling block that was offensive to some would be an inspiration of new life to others. Holy God, Holy and Mighty, Holy Immortal One, have mercy upon us. (x3)

Meditation 5: Jesus Talks with Elders in the Temple Because through the listening and asking of questions Jesus grew in understanding. Whoever does not listen and ask questions Cannot expect to grow in faith. Meditation 6: John the Baptist Because the message of repentance has come through Your servant John the Baptist. Assist us, O Lord God of hosts Make straight the crooked paths in our lives and bring us new life.

Meditation 7: Jesus calls His Disciples Because by Your calling we are given ministries of servant hood. But as for me and my house, I will serve the Lord Joined with others in the Body of Christ to partner with our God in mission Meditation 8: Jesus heals the sick Because through the Holy Spirit You have given us the gift of healing. Those who sowed with tears Will reap with songs of joy and healing.

Meditation 9: The Good Samaritan Because You have called us to be Good Samaritans to the poor and those in need. They crossed to the other side of the road and passed him by And when I was hungry, you gave me food, when I was thirsty you gave me drink. I was hurt and you bandaged my wounds Meditation 10: Jesus visits Mary and Martha Because You have given us Mary and Martha as models of hospitality and servant hood. He was led to Bethany for fellowship and strength for His journey And Mary and Martha demonstrated their love for the Lord.

Meditation 11: The Garden of Gethsemane Because in the garden You discerned the way forward to be the way of the cross. My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from Me Yet not My will but Thine be done Meditation 12: The Way of the Cross Because by Your holy cross You have redeemed the world. The Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. For the transgression of my people He was stricken.

In the Easter Season Meditation 13: The Women Come to the Tomb Because the commitment to faith helps us through grief and sorrow Alleluia! Christ is risen! The Lord is risen indeed! Alleluia! Meditation 14: The Emmaus Road Because You come to us in the breaking of bread Do our hearts not burn within us? As He talks with us on the way?

At the East Window Savior of the world, by Your cross and precious blood You have redeemed us: Save us, and help us, we humbly beseech You, O Lord. Let us pray. (Silence) We thank You, heavenly Father, that You have delivered us from the dominion of sin and death and brought us into the kingdom of Your Son; and we pray that, as by His death He has recalled us to life, so by His love He may raise us to eternal joys; Who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen. To Christ our Lord Who loves us, and washed us in His own blood, and made us a kingdom of priests to serve His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
