Gathering God calls us together to offer praise, acknowledge sin, and celebrate our adoption as forgiven children. Prelude 9:15 The Lord Is My Light D. Linda McKechnie 11:00 Prelude in D Major J. S. Bach BWV 532 Introit Jesus, We Are Here Hymn 392 At the sign you may stand. Hymn indicates the red pew hymnal Glory to God. Call to Worship Psalm 130 : 5 7 Bold text is read or sung in unison. I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in God I hope. My soul waits for the Lord more than those who watch for the morning, more than those who watch for the morning. O Israel, hope in the Lord! For with the Lord there is steadfast love, and with the Lord there is great power to redeem, Come, let us worship God! Opening Hymn Morning Has Broken Hymn 664 Prayer of Confession Lord of all creation, you have called us each by name. We are yours, and yet, we live as if we are unknown. We seek control where we have none. We neglect our souls and mock the righteous. We disregard and dismiss your Word. Forgive us. Have mercy on us. Grant us your grace and peace in the midst of our brokenness. Help us to trust more in you and your timing. Guide us to be good stewards and to delight in your promises. Inspire us, in all we do, to cling to your Word. Amen.

Assurance of Forgiveness Friends in Christ, hear and believe the good news of the Gospel. In Jesus Christ we are forgiven. Thanks be to God. Choral Response of Praise 9:15 Sing Hallelujah! Mark Burrows ( Jesus Lives Today) Hallelujah, the King of Kings drives our darkness and doubt away. Hallelujah, the Lord of Lords, Prince of Peace, Light of the world, Jesus lives today. We sing hallelujah! Praise the Lord for blessings without end. We sing hallelujah! Praise the Lord for Jesus, Savior, friend. God s world is always filled with hope, God s love can never die. We sing hallelujah! Praise the Lord, Christ Jesus reigns on high! 11:00 Above All Praise Felix Mendelssohn Above all praise and all majesty, Lord, thou reignest evermore. Hallelujah! Words of Welcome Proclaiming the Word We encounter the Word in speech and song as we interpret and expound scripture. Time with Children 9:15 Children may leave for Church School classes. Teachers and ushers can assist in finding classrooms. 11:00 Children pre-kindergarten or age four to grade three may leave for Worship Explorers in Room 302. Prayer for Illumination Holy Spirit, reveal yourself to us. Beneath the bright wings of the Holy Spirit, overshadow us with your glory, dazzle us with your brightness, and speak to us. We are listening. Amen.

First Scripture Lesson Isaiah 35 : 1 10 pg 663 Second Scripture Lesson Mark 7 : 31 37 pg 42 Sermon Deaf to Hear. Mute to Speak. Lauren J. McFeaters Thanksgiving We respond by presenting our offerings, setting the table, lifting prayers, and praising the triune God. Sermon Hymn I Waited Patiently for God Psalter 40 B, pg 249 Psalter indicates the blue pew psalter Psalms for All Seasons. Affirmation of Faith I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen. Apostles Creed Offertory My Shepherd Is Lord Harrison Oxley Psalm 23 My shepherd is Lord, I have all I need, giving me rest in green and pleasant fields, reviving my soul by finding fresh water, guiding my ways with a shepherd s care. Though I should walk in death s dark valley, I fear no evil with you by my side, your shepherd s staff to comfort me. You spread my table in sight of my foes, anoint my head, my cup runs over; you tend me with love always loyal. I dwell with the Lord as long as I live.
