3 Closing worship with Eucharist - Sunday, May 22. Gather at 1pm at St. Matthew Episcopal Church-Browns Point 6800 Eastside Drive NE, Tacoma WA 98422 www.neighborhoodparish.org You are welcome to bring flowers to be combined by Love Team into bouquets for presentation at end of Closing. All about Come and See Go and Tell Come and See Go and Tell is reshaped from traditional Cursillo while retaining the core message of one s identity as a Beloved Child of God. Our baptismal covenant is a platform for transformation of lives. Bishop Rickel enthusiastically endorses Come and See Go and Tell in a short video at www.olycursillo.org. A glossary of new terms is also on the website. Pay It Forward: Participation in the ministry is open to all, regardless of ability to pay. Currently, the cost for a guest or team member on a Come and See weekend is $250, including 2 nights lodging and 6 meals. Please accept guidance from the Holy Spirit to generously contribute to the Pay It Forward fund to help sustain this vital ministry. A donation button at www.olycursillo.org accepts contributions. Alternatively, a check payable to Diocese of Olympia- memo d Come and See weekends may be sent to Cursillo c/o Diocese of Olympia, 1551 10 th Avenue East, Seattle WA 98102. Parish-centered activity: Community Sponsorship: Sponsorship has been core to Cursillo for forty years inviting new candidates, supporting those candidates during the weekend with prayer and logistical support, at times helping to pay the cost for the candidate and finally, finding a reunion group for the new cursillista. Prayerfully, Secretariat has discerned that this task had become a barrier to inviting new candidates and to successfully integrating new cursillistas into small groups. And yet, we still are called to invite guests, to support them with prayer, to ensure attendance on a weekend and to help each new cursillista find a small group for support in his/her Walk.

4 Therefore, Secretariat recommends each congregation adopt Community Sponsorship. This new term describes the practice of more successful parish communities. Each congregation is encouraged to identify a local point-person to coordinate gathering of Grace Notes and assist with finding a group for the new member of the local community. This position may rotate for each weekend or other time frame among willing volunteers. The Come and See application allows an individual to determine his/her readiness to attend a weekend. No sponsor or clergy signature is needed. Find the application at www.olycursillo.org for digital transmission or to print and mail. After Secretariat s Office Manager receives an application from a potential guest, the applicant s clergy is notified that a parishioner will be attending the weekend. The local parish point-person is also notified of the application, to facilitate collection of Grace Notes (palanca). Guests arrange their own transportation to the retreat center. Carpooling of guests from a parish is encouraged; a guest may drive him/herself; a friend may provide transportation. Grace Notes (palanca): Each parish is encouraged to establish a convenient drop box for Grace Notes. Personal notes, preferably hand-written, are encouraged from the community. For the Spring 2016 weekend, Grace Notes may be 1) couriered via a team member to the weekend facility OR 2) mailed - in time to arrive by May 20 - in a larger envelope CLEARLY MARKED: Grace Notes c/o St. Matthew Episcopal Church, 6800 Eastside Dr. NE, Tacoma WA 98422. Inner envelopes with Grace Notes shall have both first and last name of guest or team member. Grace Notes will be delivered twice, once on Saturday and on Sunday in the Fourth Day bag. Fourth Day involvement: Group reunion discussion on the weekend and at Fourth Day will focus on the small group. Each congregation is encouraged to consider how to best incorporate the new cursillista into a small group after the weekend, by reinstituting prayer and praise gatherings (utreyas) or by another method that meets the culture of the parish community. Weekend specifics for May 20-22, 2016: Location for the Spring 2016 weekend is Dumas Bay Conference Centre, 3200 SW Dash Point Rd., Federal Way, WA 98023. www.dumasbaycentre.com

5 Guests are to arrive on Friday 4-5 pm, on their own or delivered by friends/members of their parish Cursillo community. Emergency phone for the weekend: Action Coordinator Ed - 206-427-0816. Grace Notes (palanca): Grace Notes (palanca) that will not be teammember-couriered to Dumas Bay may be mailed to St. Matthew Episcopal Church. Outer envelopes must have adequate postage and be CLEARLY MARKED: Grace Notes c/o St. Matthew Episcopal Church, 6800 Eastside Dr. NE, Tacoma WA 98422. Inner envelopes containing Grace Notes need the guest s or team member s first and last name. Community participation: Due to limited space at Dumas Bay, Love team and community activities will be anchored at St. Matthew Episcopal Church- Browns Point, 6800 Eastside Dr. NE., Tacoma WA 98422, www.neighborhoodparish.org. This parish has generously offered space for several aspects of the Spring weekend. Below are opportunities for Cursillistas to participate, whether physically present or at home. Prayer vigil: The OlyCursillo community is called to bathe the weekend in prayer, the over-arching presence of loving people covering the weekend experience for guests and team. The Vigil Chapel, located at St. Matthew Episcopal Church- Brown s Point, will begin Friday, May 20 at 2:00pm and continue until 1:30pm on Sunday, May 22. Multiple Cursillistas may sign up to pray for one or more one-hour time blocks either in the Vigil Chapel at St. Matthew or from home at any time of day or night. Contact Vigil Chapel coordinator Linda Potter at LinPott@aol.com or call 253-335-1175. Linda will maintain a list of pray-ers with their selected times and locations. Cross-making event: The guests crosses will be assembled on Saturday, May 21 beginning at 10am, at St. Matthew- Browns Point. As the crosses are progressing, prayers will focus the workers on the purpose of their efforts. Any Cursillista who wishes to participate in the Cross-making event is asked to contact Linda Potter at Linpott@aol.com or 253-335-1175. -- Just one more page! --
