How To Know When You ve Lived Right I get this kind of question all the time. It may be worded How do I know I have earned heaven? This is a very important question, but I wonder what answer may be being sought. Are you asking whether you are right with God? Maybe you re wondering if you have earned the golden ticket to heaven. Most of you know that I served as a Hospice Chaplain for five years. During this time I learned much about how we as people relate to one another and especially how we relate to God. Often the expectation of me was of intermediator, as one that held the rule book for how to please God, and provider of the path to please God. All of this in order to correct one s historical living and help create a life good enough to please God and allow for entry into heaven when this life is complete. I worked through such issues with wonderful God fearing folk and those who cried out in desperation that there must be some way to correct and even erase their past in order to be welcomed by the divine. One afternoon in what I thought was just a moment of quiet between the storms, my Co-Chaplain Dennis answered these questions for me with such simplicity. You will know you have lived right if when someone later looks upon your grave marker or mentions your name in conversation upon their face is a smile remembering you. Living faithfully for Jesus is not about following a set of rules and being graded on your success or failure. Living faithfully for Jesus is caring for one another and every person on earth because you first were loved by God and redeemed by this God who chose you. Happy Easter! Go and live! Go and love! In ministry together, Pastor Craig

A Few Extra Coins for the Noisy Offering the 4th Sunday of every month Noisy Offering Sundays are making an Impact! *Sunday, April 22nd, 2018* Thanks to the donations of pocket change by members and visitors to SPC, donations have been sent to both Hocker Grove Middle School and Shawnee Mission Northwest High School, through our Love Fund program for these schools. School Counselors at both schools use these funds to help students who are unable to pay for lunches, are in need of clothing items, are unable to pay a fee or purchase an item required for a class, are in need of funds for a school activity, or do not have the basics for a school day, such as paper/pens/pencils. We will continue to collect the Noisy Offering on the 4 th Sunday each month, and help to keep the Love Fund for these schools going strong. Again, the participation of the members, visitors, and friends of SPC are making a positive impact on our community. THANK YOU! Thank you for your generous donations every month. LAUNDRY AND SHOWER PROGRAM Each morning, individuals are able to take a shower before breakfast. This is a necessity for many of their clients, especially those experiencing homelessness. Additionally, individuals can leave their soiled clothes, and Cross-Lines staff and volunteers will launder the clothes by the next day. These services help restore dignity and hope to individuals needing it the most. HOPE TOTES PROGRAM Deodorant, soap, toothpaste, and toilet paper are necessities in everyone s life, however these items are often expensive and not covered by Food Stamps. When families enroll in this program, they get a Hope Tote bag. Every 60 days, they can bring their bag back to Cross-Lines, and volunteers and staff refill the bag with these necessities. DIAPER PROGRAM Cross-Lines provides a monthly supply of diapers to babies under the age of 3. Every baby deserves a clean diaper, yet diapers are a very expensive necessity.
