Great brother hood and fellowship, Ralph Pigman and Chad Denton was in attendance to represent Hadi Temple. We reached out to other Temples to obtain knowledge on positive things to do to gain and retain the membership with in the Temples. To say membership is declining in all Temples true across the board. We need to make a TEAM EFFORT in supporting one other to bring this Shrine back alive. Team we are going to put a plan together to make things come to a better help serve the seven generations of nobility. In the next few months I m going to be coming to all units, clubs, lodges, and ladies for ideas on the pro and cons within. To say I want to succeed as the team is a goal that we will reach. Guys a great way to support the temple bring your friends and ladies down to public events at the FEZ good times and fellowship is always there. Your 2018 membership chairman, is pumped ready to work with all willing to communicate to make Hadi Temple GREAT AGAIN. The team will be having a membership booth at the Hadi Shrine Circus, if you want to help gets this temple and support the temple in our efforts in getting this plan started please contact me and give me just a few hours of your time this year if we all get involved we will make this work. Have a great day and remember the reason we become Shriner s is for the kids. Thanks for your support your, 2018 Outer Guard Chad Denton
From the recorder s corner I hope everyone is doing well. Summer is over. I hope everyone had a good time this summer. As we get into the fall the Annual Hadi Shrine Circus is just right around the corner. We need to sell plenty of tickets to help make the Circus successful. Also, we could use everyone to help at the circus if you cannot work all of the performances, work what you can, also bring the family out the Monday evening before the Circus we will be stapling tickets to the coloring books and stringing glow lights, come on down to the Temple at 5:30P.M. enjoy the fellowship and refreshments. Also, it is dues time if you are behind or just having trouble paying your dues call my office. We are also offering the ach program again this year for your 2020 dues. For those that don t know how this works, you can make monthly payments that automatically come out of your bank account, to pay your dues for the next year. I have had some questions about 50 year members. You are not entitled to life membership for Temple dues until you are in your 51st year. Also remember you still owe your per capita to imperial which is 35 dollars. Last but, not least, don t forget about the Ceremonial for new members on November 3rd. Thanks Ralph A. Pigman Recorder Do you have a photo that you would like to see featured in an issue of the Hot Sands Newsletter?! We would love to see the things happening around Hadi and with our UCO s! As you read this, the Winter portion of the parade schedule is just beginning. The West Side Nut Club and Fall Ceremonial parades were a huge success. We can look forward to getting into our winter uniforms for the upcoming Christmas parade on November 18th. Line- up is scheduled for 1:30 pm. Hope to see a good turnout for these upcoming events. Thanks to all who participated in the Fall Ceremonial and parade. Your help was much appreciated. Congratulations to the Fall Class Honoree, Steve Vessel, PP. The annual Hadi Shrine Circus is fast approaching. Again, thanks to all who came out and supported the Hadi ticket sales kick-off. Hope you ve sold a bunch of circus tickets by now! The date to turn in your money and unsold tickets to the front office is Wednesday November 21st. I can t stress this enough- Remember, our job is to man the front entrance gates at the Ford Center. Let s all turn out to help make this run smoothly. Remember, we are one of the first Shriners the patrons see, so we need to be as helpful and courteous as possible-. Also, don t forget that after the Friday performance of the circus, the D&B will have our annual pizza party. We ve got 7:30 reservations already at the Roca-Bar on Kentucky Ave. On a new note, next year s D&B president is already thinking about collecting gifts for the up-coming East- West Shrine Football & Super Bowl Games. Let s get together and show him how much we are willing to help out and support these great causes. The next stated meeting and practice will be held on November 9th. Upcoming events: Circus workers dinner and Hadi stated meeting December 18th. I hope to do this again next month and bring you the past and future happenings of your Hadi Drum and Bugle Corps. 7

Great Lakes Shrine Clown Congrats to Chad Denton for taking home 1st place in the Great Lakes Shrine Clown White Faces Category! Legion of Honor Submitted By: Curran Wilkinson Hadi Legion Notes: Greetings from Hadi Legion of honor. November has slipped up on us; my how time flies! November is a very important month with many activities on our calendars. First is November 6 which is Election Day. It is important that we all exercise our right and privilege to vote for the candidates of our choice. Men and Women have fought and died since the beginning to preserve this freedom. It is called DEMOCRACY. So please don t let these service men and women who gave their lives for freedom only to have died in vain. November 11 is Veteran s Day in America. This is the day we pay tribute to the service men and women who gave a portion of their lives; and in many cases their life, that the U. S. of A. remain to be a free country. There will be many programs honoring veterans that day. If you see a veteran, thank him or her for their service. Next is Thanksgiving Day, a day set aside to give thanks for our many blessings and a bountiful harvest. It is also opening day of The Hadi Shrine Circus. It takes a lot of work to put this circus on and to make it a success. Please volunteer to help during the circus. We at Hadi Legion of Honor are seeking new members, so bring your DD214 to Hadi Shrine on the 4th Monday at 7:00 PM and we will note on your petition during our monthly meeting. Remember, it is an Honor to belong to the Legion of Honor. Curran Wilkinson P. C. Hadi LOH 11
