During April we will again present Mary s Way of the Cross on Friday, April 15, the same day the Rosary Society holds its annual Fish Fry. Come eat some great fish and then join us for the Stations of the Cross! On Monday of Holy Week, April 18, John Schweska will join us to present The Cross Pathway to Wisdom and Healing. John is Assistant Program Director-Crisis Outreach at Catholic Charities, and a Lay Passionist who has worked with the poor and dying in the inner city, has counseled emotionally challenged and displaced children and families, and had responded to disasters such as the 2004 tsunami. Mary s Way of the Cross Friday, April 15 th 7:30pm A Spiritual Lenten Devotion You are invited to follow the Way of the Cross as seen through the eyes of our Blessed Mother. The Blessed Sacrament Council of Catholic Women invites our parish community to join us as we participate in this traditional Lenten devotion which offers a different point of view. It is hoped that we will all come away with a sense of both prayerful repentance and redemption as we walk with Mary as she follows her son Jesus' last steps. Following the stations, Benediction of the Holy Eucharist will take place. The Church will then be open until 9:00 pm for further adoration and private prayer. Ellie Schifano Memorial Scholarship The Blessed Sacrament Council of Catholic Women is once again sponsoring a $500.00 college scholarship named in honor of one of our most beloved members, Ellie Schifano. April Meeting Monday, April 18 at 7:00pm The Cross Path to Wisdom and Healing Monday, April 18 th begins Holy Week the week that leads us to Easter Sunday. To put us in a spiritual disposition, the CCW (Council of Catholic Women) has arranged to have John Schweska speak at their monthly meeting. John is a Knight of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, a lay Passionist, and, as a member of the Catholic Charity Solidarity Team, has been involved in fund-raising and dedication of churches in India which were needed to replace those destroyed by the tsunami. John is a NJ licensed Professional Counselor and a certified NJ Disaster Response Crisis Counselor. He has worked with both children and adults in that capacity. Mr. Schweska is the author of two published biographies and studies on St. Gabriel Possenti, Passionist youth and cleric, titled: Following the Light of the Cross and At the Cross with Mary. These were presented to the Venerable John Paul II at a special Audience in Rome. The topic John has chosen to present to the parishioners of Blessed Sacrament on April 18 th is: The Cross Path to Wisdom and Healing. The program is open to all parishioners and will begin at 7:30 PM following a short business meeting conducted by the CCW. This promises to be an excellent way to begin our Holy Week preparation. Where is she now? Have you ve been wondering why Rosemary Miano has not been to a meeting lately? It is because she and her husband Jeff have moved. They relocated to their original home in Raleigh NC only to find that Jeff had a great job offer in Kansas. So they packed up again and were off to see the wizard. Rosemary s new address is 204 W. Meadowsweet Court, Andover, KS 67002. Her cell is 732-325- 7822. We will miss her and wish them luck. She will be glad to hear from you so drop a line or call.
