Indeed, it's a great privilege to give honor and praises to Him. He is a Father's example for us to follow. "Characteristic" is defined as constituting a special character, typical, distinctive, trait, features, or quality, that is peculiar to, and helps identify something or someone from others. The coming Father's Day celebration is a good time for us as Fathers to assure we are making God happy. We do this by being the Fathers He expects us to be, after giving us all the tools needed. John 3:16-18 states, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. From the Pastor s Desk: Pastor Lynn W. Beanum Colossians 1:12-13, Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son. The account of The Prodigal Son found in Luke 15: 17- And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! 18-I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, 19-And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants. 20-And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. Luke 17:24 says, For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry. Truly, that's a Father's love for us Fathers to follow. May the blessings of God be upon all spirit-filled Fathers in these last and evil days. Amen, and amen! Verse for the Month My son, be wise, and make my heart glad, that I may answer him that reproacheth me. -Proverbs 27:11 V I S I T U S! A Word from Our Editor... Father I Stretch My Hands To Thee, No Other Help I Know By: Sister Marilyn Silver Greetings dear readers. This is the month we celebrate Fathers. Godly Fathers are pillars of the home and an example for the family. They look out for the household and those in their care. True fathers seek the will of God and set an atmosphere of peace within the walls. Proverbs 4:1-9 states, Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding. 2 For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law. 3 For I was my father's son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother. 4 He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live. 5 Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. 6 Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee. 7 Wisdom is Temple Elders Speak... the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. 8 Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her. 9 She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee. Let s remember to honor our natural Fathers. We must love and respect them and hold fast to the wisdom and good doctrine that they impart to us. Our heavenly Father has set the ultimate example of how a Father should conduct himself. When we look to God and remember all the wonderful things He is doing for us, it s difficult to hold our peace. Our hands begin to go up in praise and adoration. Father I stretch my hands to thee, No other help I know. As we reminisce over the things He has brought us through and the things He has shielded us from, Thank you Lord! is uttered from our lips. A Father like no other, His name is Jesus. If your earthly Father is still alive, let him know how you appreciate the love he shows you, the prayers he prays with you and the example he has set before you. To Fathers everywhere, seek the face of God that the family may be blessed. God s peace be with you.. THE PALM TREE By: Elder Donnell Comfort Trees play a significant and an important role in our everyday lives. They provide oxygen for us to breath, while absorbing carbon dioxide that we don't want to breath. Trees provide the lumber and the timber that is needed to build homes, churches, schools, factories, etc. Trees provide all kinds of fruits and nuts for our consumption. They also provide shelter for animals, birds, insects, and bugs; while providing shade for us. There are at least 29 different trees listed in scripture. But I am impressed with the PALM TREE. It is a tree that has wide, strong and powerful roots. And that is why, in the time of storm, it may lean from side to side, but it won't break. It may bend, but it won't be uprooted. It may be pulled, but it won't be removed. When the storms of life are raging and when the winds of adversity are blowing, we as the people of God must be like a PALM TREE. "And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in due season; his leaf also shall not wither, and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper." - Psalms 1:3 Page 2 Temple of Deliverance, HCG, Inc. Temple Men Speak... Thanks Unto the Lord By: Deacon Sherman Winn, Sr. Praise the Lord Everyone!! I thank God for his grace and mercy. I thank him for my family as well as my church family. Psalms 92 let's us know, It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High. Psalms 95:2 also says, Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving and make a joyful noise unto him with Psalm. I encourage you to get to know the Lord for yourselves because, if you follow Jesus, you will for sure, be going the right way. I've been running for Jesus a mighty long time, and I'm not tired yet. So I believe I'll hold out and see what the end will be. God bless you all F a t h e r K n o w s B e s t, W h e n H e K n o w s G o d! 2016 Souvenir Booklet It is with great anticipation that we celebrate our 85th Church Anniversary on Sunday, September 11, 2016. Temple Women Speak... Faith In Christ By: Sister Berlinda Robinson Praise ye the Lord. O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever (Psalm 106:1-2). I thank God for His mercy every day. The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him (Nahum 1:7). I will trust the Lord in my daily walk, in my sleeping, eating, and going to work. Whatever I do I want to do it in the name of the Lord Jesus. I thank the Lord for hope and faith now, and in the life to come. It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit. Harry S. TEMPLE YOUTH SPEAK KNOW THE WARNING SIGNS BY: BRO. BRYANT SIMS Know the warning signs. A warning is a signal that can tell us two basic things: 1) Trouble is coming our way or 2) We are headed towards trouble. All of us are very good at seeing the signs of trouble when it happens all at once. An example of this would be when a tire on a car blows out all of a sudden. We may not have expected that tire to blow out, but it is very obvious what the problem is. However, there are often times when trouble can present itself over a long period of time in the form of little problems that eventually grow to become bigger problems. An example would be that same car tire this time developing a small leak. The leak is so slow that you don t even notice it at first. But later you notice it the tire now flat. Satan has a way of trying to draw us in slowly by using our own interests against us. Any time we put too much attention on material things and trying to please others, our focus is taken off God and his plan for us. So we lose focus on what is really going on in our spiritual life. And we can t see the trouble that s heading towards us because we get too wrapped up into worldly or material things. That s why the Bible tells us in Mathew 26:41 to Watch and pray that ye enter not into temptation: the Spirit is indeed willing but the flesh is weak. So, what are some warning signs to look out for: putting more emphasis on pleasing people and less on trying to please God; allowing our wants to turn into lusts such that they become more important than the wellbeing of others and God; and listening to people who only tell you what you want to hear to get you to go along with what they are doing. Remember, If that person is asking you to do something that goes against what you have been taught, then it is a TRAP; no matter how good it sounds or feels. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful (Col 3:12-15 NIV). Prayer: LORD, I choose to walk in these qualities today. I know it may be difficult because people can be thoughtless, selfish, inconsiderate, and even cruel. But if they are, I set my heart to forgive them as You have forgiven me. Help me today to walk in Your love. As I do, I will have Your peace in my heart. Thank You for this assurance. In Jesus' name, Amen. Page 14 Temple Of Deliverance HCG, Inc., Newsletter

8th Annual Women s Conference The 8th Annual Women s Conference was held at the Temple on May 7th, 2016. It was an uplifting and inspiring occasion. The sisters came together with anticipation of receiving strength from the Lord and from one another. As they gathered in the building, it was evident that they were glad to be in the house of the Lord, and to see one another, one more time. The overall theme was Out of the Pit. Sisters Lynetta Watkins and Tara Lewis lead the conference in an uplifting praise and worship. Sister April Sims did an awesome job as Mistress of Ceremonies. Mother Ruby Beanum gave a warm and heartfelt welcome as the conference began. Sis. Tara Lewis shared a poem that blessed our hearts and inspired us to go forward in the Lord. God blessed the speakers to share words of knowledge and input from the Word of God that resonated within our hearts. An inspirational solo was offered unto the Lord by Sis. Michelle Smith. We were moved through songs, testimonies of deliverance, PowerPoints presentations and written exercises that caused us to look back over our lives and see from where the Lord has brought us. We were blessed to have our young sisters of TOD as part of the Conference. The continental breakfast, lunch and games were enjoyed throughout the day. First Lady Maureen Tyson spoke on the topic, The Power of Faith. She spoke of 7 Steps of Faith: weak faith, temporary faith, active faith, strong faith, great faith, unfeigned (genuine) faith and perfect (divine) faith. We were touched as she spoke in Faith. For it takes Faith to please the Lord. She did an awesome job sharing with us what God had given her. Lady Peggy Young shared a lesson on Handling Difficult People in Your Life. She reminded us that Jesus has forgiven us and we must follow His example, even before we are asked, we must forgive the offender and speak no evil of the offender. It was truly a lesson well taught in the name of Jesus. Sister Young did an excellent job and blessed our souls. Sister Sylvia Tyree shared a Health and Wellness Session with us on Breast Cancer Awareness. Her testimony was powerful and a blessed one of how God has delivered her through all of her afflictions. She stood on the word of God and pointed us to the One who brought her through the lowest points in her life. Our hearts were moved to hear such a powerful account of what God, not only has done, but will do if we put our trust in Him. Even through the test and trials, to the glory of God, she made up her mind to share her testimony wherever she goes. She is known as This Sister Speaks. Thank God for Sister Tyree caring enough to encourage other sisters to take care of themselves, and to trust God through it all. Lady Melissa F. Fields spoke on the topic, Handling the Storms of Life. She shared Biblical Storm Survival Tips for before, during and after a devastating storm. As she shared with us she reminded us that, Jonah was swept up in a storm due to disobedience. Fierce and persistent storm winds caused him to be thrown overboard and lodge a threenight stay in the belly of a fish. He survived with an obedient heart (Jonah 3:3 KJV). In her conclusion we were reminded that no matter what comes in our lives God is able to turn it around. We must remember, no matter how deep the pit; God can rescue us out of every one. Thank God for Mother Fields allowing the Lord to bless us through her anointed teaching. Continue to pray for Mother Ruby Beanum, the visionary, the Conference Coordinators: Sisters Sandy Woolfolk, Lynetta Watkins and Michelle Smith, and all who worked so diligently to make the conference a success through the help of the Lord. Let s pray for one another that God will continue to bless the Women s Conference in Jesus name. Conference photos submitted by Sister Lynetta Watkins Volume 36, Issue 6 - June 5, 2016 Page 15

Wednesday, April 20th - Friday, April 22nd Our Youth Revival was a blessed and successful event. Mind of Christ was the theme and the scripture verse for the revival week was Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus (Philippians 2:5). The anointed Praise Team lead us in praise and worship as they exalted the Lord. Our powerful guest speaker, Bishop W. Michael Fields, allowed the Lord to use him each night to stir our souls through the living word of God. The Lord poured out His spirit upon us nightly. Texts and Topics are listed below: Wednesday-Text: Romans 8:1-6 Topic: The Power of A Spiritual Mind Message: Bishop Fields reminded us that we have to learn how to be spiritual. He said to Keep it Spiritual and to remember to ask the Lord to do something with our minds. Thursday-Text: Lamentations 3:14-24 Topic: Snap out of It Message: Pastor Fields admonished us to make Godly choices. He encouraged us to turn back to God. He said when our minds are right, we can praise God wherever we are. Friday-Text: Philippians 5:12-14 Topic: The Gift of Goodbye Message: Bishop Fields shared the word of God, Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. He charged us to let go of the world, things that would hinder our walk with God, and say, Goodbye as we move forward in the Lord Jesus Christ. Bishop W. Michael Fields Refuge Temple Church Washington DC Did not our hearts burn as the man of God spoke to us by the wayside? We thank God for the Word, the choirs and the soloist that uplifted the service. It was a Youth Revival that will not be soon forgotten. Each night many souls made their way to the altar, some were blessed even before reaching the altar and some just laid on the altar. The move of God was mighty. Two of our Youth, Sis. India Jackson and Bro. Tori Silver, professed the Holy Ghost and witnessed of God s goodness to them. Let s pray for them that they will grow stronger in the Lord and realize that this is just the beginning. Pray that they continue to seek the Lord at the altar, and in their daily walk. Let s hide the Word of God in our hearts that we may not sin against Him. Pray for our Youth, and for one another that we may obey the Lord and be revived again and again. A R E G I V E R S The Lord Understands (Posted by Sharon )~Excerpts http://christiancaregiving.blogspot.com/20110611 O R N E R The challenges of caregiving can be intense. As a caregiver one can feel so alone. Only a fellow caregiver can begin to understand the intensity of the emotions that accompany caring for a loved one who has an incurable disease. As a caregiver sometimes people would say things to me like you are so strong, or you are a good example of perseverance in your Christian life. This would often make me feel somewhat guilty when they would say that. I was not strong at all. Were it not for God s grace and strength I could not have continued to persevere. I did not chose or want this role in life at all, but it is the path God that had been assigned to me. I just wanted to be a normal couple. When people would say such things it not only sometimes made me feel guilty, but it also made me feel more alone. It almost gave me the feeling that I had to live up to a certain image of strength. It helped me more when people would say that they were praying for me, or if they gave me physical help. The truth of the matter is that another human being can not possibly understand all our physical, emotional, and spiritual struggles. Only God can do that. Dear Caregiver, others will not and can not always understand and identify with the struggles you go through daily; as you seek to care for your loved one who is ill. Know and rest assured, however, that the Lord identifies with your every need. He also cares about you deeply. He will supply you with the guidance, grace, and strength you need to meet the challenges of each new day. Thank You! We greatly appreciate the many readers just like yourself, who have contributed to the Newsletter with your prayers, encouragements and monetary blessings! It s because of you and, of course, Our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ that we are able to distribute this monthly newsletter to thousands of souls across the nation.
