Echockotee Lodge 200 North Florida Council 87 Summer 2014 Officer Reports This past year has been an amazing experience beyond imagination! We have seen three great Fellowships, two awesome Service Days, and had an exceptional time hosting Section Conference 2014. Serving this past year as your Lodge Chief has brought memories that will last a lifetime, and I wish all the best to the incoming Chief. As we move into the 100th Anniversary of the Order of the Arrow, it is clear to me, that the spirit of cheerful service burns brightly in Echockotee Lodge! - Michael Simmons, Lodge Chief E-chock-o-tee-ians, Summer Fellowship serves as the specular cap on this year for us. It has been a pleasure to carry out the duties of VCP for y all. Looking backward, this year has been fantastic. Looking forward, Summer Fellowship is where Chapters and the Lodge hold elections for the coming year. Each position, from Chapter Historian to Lodge Chief each has its unique responsibilities. But all share something: anyone can run for anything. It does not matter what is on your sash or how long you have been in our Lodge, you are entirely eligible to go for Lodge Chief. So go big and get bold. The only way you ll have a chance to win is if you put yourself out there! -Austin Kriznar, VCP It was awesome finishing out this year as your Vice Chief of Training, and I encourage everyone that is eligible for brotherhood conversion to do so. If you have any questions about Brotherhood Conversion, or are interested in being a Brotherhood Instructor, please contact me. -James Wisniewski, VCT This year has been an amazing year, and it is all thanks to you. Echockotee is thriving and doing what it does best: being awesome! I would like to give a special thanks to the Chapter Chiefs, Lodge Officers, and anyone who wrote an article for The Feather this year for making it one of our best years yet. It was so great, The Feather/Fluffy won 2nd Place in the publications competition at Section Conference. It might be the end of this year, but the beginning of a new one brings in a new opportunity to bring home the gold for the 100th Annaversary of the Order of the Arrow. Not just i publications, but in everything. Let s go Echockotee! -Josh Mintz, Lodge Secretary It was a pleasure to serve this year as your Treasurer, there is still time to spend money allocated to your Chapter/Committee, so please use it to improve your program. If you are interested in Lodge Finance, give me a call or shoot me an email. -Travis Duffy, Lodge Treasurer I would just like to thank everyone who helped me out on the historical display. We won second place at Section Conference! I can t wait to see you all Summer Fellowship. -Ethan Smith, Lodge Historian Order of the Arrow - Boy Scouts of America

Echockotee Lodge 200 - North Florida Council 87 Order of the Arrow - Boy Scouts of America Officer Elections For those Arrowmen that are under the age of 21 (and will remain under 21 for the duration of the term), at the Summer Fellowship you have the opportunity to be elected to serve as a Chapter or Lodge Officer for the 2013-2014 year. Each Chapter has its own slate of Officers that includes at minimum a Chief, a Vice Chief, and a Secretary; if you re interested in running for one of these Chapter positions, please talk to your Chapter Chief or Chapter Adviser. During the Sunday Lodge Business Meeting, we will conduct the Lodge Officer Elections: Lodge Chief, Lodge Vice Chief of Program, Lodge Vice Chief of Training, Lodge Secretary, Lodge Treasurer, and Lodge Historian. In order to be eligible for election, Order of the Arrow Boy Scouts of America you must be nominated by a fellow Arrowmen during the Friday Lodge Business Meeting or the Saturday Lodge Executive Committee Meeting. Arrowmen are encouraged to campaign in a scout-like manner, but all election materials must be removed from Camp Shands before departure. Please do not use staples, nails, and the sorts for any campaign materials you hang up. I encourage you to seek out the current occupant of the position you are interested in, and talk to them about the commitments involved with that position. The Elemukulek Chapter has had a spectacular beginning of the year. At our Winter Fellowship, five of our members were selected to receive the Vigil Honor, we made a strong spirit impression, and we won first place in the historical display competition. Just two weeks later, the Elemukulek Chapter hosted the River Bend district Camp-O-Ree. It was extremely successful with 16 troops in attendance and an abundance of fun activities and spirit. We are in the midst of planning our chapter service project involving additions to the Camp Echockotee chapel. We look forward to seeing everyone and fighting undercover for Sonic at Spring Fellowship! -Cole Gabriel, Elemukulek Chapter Chief Oklawaha Oklawaha has been having a great time since Spring Fellowship. We inducted 12 new Ordeal Members, a Chapter best in several years, and had one Brotherhood conversion. While we were there our Chapter cleared brush from the campsites and trimmings from the trees in front of the Ames building. At Section Conference we had quite the turn out with close to 20 of our members in attendance. This is almost double the ten attendees that were pledged to the Lodge. While we were there we worked with another Chapter and were responsible for hospitality. Hope to see you all at Summer Fellowship. -Jonathan Brescia, Oklawaha Chapter Chief Order of the Arrow - Boy Scouts of America
