Made One by Christ Welcome News for the Good of the Church Bell Prelude Oh, Shenandoah arr. Edna Broadhurst Michael Broadhurst, flue Choral Call to Worship Opening Prayer *Hymn #367 Come, Ye Thankful People, Come Clothed by Christ Moment of Silence Corporate Prayer of Confession It is only by the power of God that we are able to stand against evil. Trusting in God s grace, let us confess our sin. **Eternal God, we confess that we have failed to seek Your will. You warn us of what is to come, but we ignore the signs of the times. You promise us a new creation, but we cling to the ruins of this world. Forgive us, God of grace. Wash away the stain of our sin and keep us faithful in love and in deed, while we await Your coming in glory, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Now stand firm in your faith, covered by the saving grace of God and ready to proclaim the gospel of peace. In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! **Thanks be to God. Sharing of Christ s Peace * Please rise in body and spirit. The hymns are in the burgundy Glory to God hymnal found in the pew racks. ** Words in bold print are spoken aloud as a congregation.

Taking Christ s Blessing to the World *Hymn #643 Now Thank We All Our God Charge * Benediction Hymn #543 God, Be the Love to Search and Keep Me Verse 5 A Blessing in Music On Eagles Wings arr. John Hackworth My God, I Thank Thee My God, I thank Thee, Who hast made the earth so bright, So full of splendor and of joy, beauty and light; So many glorious things, So many glorious things are here, Are here, noble and right. I thank Thee, too, That Thou hast made joy to abound; So many gentle thoughts and deeds, Circling us round, that in the darkest spot, That in the darkest spot of earth, Of earth, some love is found. And then I thank Thee For the love of friends and kin, The ties that bind us all Through times both thick and thin, That keep us on your path and shield us, Shield us, shield us from sin. I thank thee, Lord, That Thou hast kept the best in store; We have enough, yet not too much to long for more; A yearning for a peace, a yearning for a peace, A deeper peace not known before, A deeper peace not known before.
