In the last year, over 4000 showers have been taken at the facility located at the St. Vincent de Paul Dining Facility, 35 West Third Street in Eureka. The open house will be held on Saturday, May 14 th from 3 pm to 5 pm with tours of the showers and the dining facility, the showing of a DVD highlighting the construction and dedication, and refreshments. Humboldt County Catholic Update A Glimpse at Church History Two thousand years and Growing Sometimes it is easy to think that Jesus Christ lived, died and rose and the following week the Church had an established Vatican, parishes, schedules for Mass and the sacraments! How did we get from there to here? The 2000+ year s history of the Catholic Church can be fascinating especially if we are among those who think that everything has always been the same. This session will investigate some of the historical movements and events which helped form our theology and spirituality as a Church.
