You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you. JOHN 15:16, nasb

THE POWER OF ONE SHARE THE LIGHT OF CHRIST THEPOWEROFONEBEGINSWITHME. This year, we re challenging you to share your faith in 2015. Start a spiritual conversation with someone. Tell how Christ has changed your life. Explain why the gospel of Jesus Christ is good news. Over the next three months, pray for opportunities to share your faith, for your eyes to be open to those opportunities, and for boldness to share. Pray also for those whom you will tell about Jesus. T H E W R I T I N G I S O N T H E W A L L Whenever you have a conversation with someone about Jesus, write the date on The Power of One wall in the Gathering Place. We can t wait to see the wall fill up with dates as our church shares the light of Christ in 2015!
OCTOBER God has given you the duty as well as the privilege of bringing each and every thing that concerns you before him in prayer. But beyond a duty and a privilege, specific prayer about particular situations in life is God s own remedy against troubling cares. He has given directions that in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving you should make your desires known to him rather than being anxious about anything. As part of your boldness in your approach to him, you are encouraged to be very specific in presenting your case. The petition should correspond to the problem, the pain and the grief. FORGIVENESS & REPENTANCE Lord, I need You to blot out my transgressions and cleanse me from my sin. Clean me that I may be whiter than snow and create in me a clean heart (Psalm 51)! PERSONAL Father, John 15:2 reminds me that You will prune away that which is harmful in my life. Help me be mindful that the outcome of this pruning is ultimately for my good.
MY FAMILY Lord, Psalm 133:1 reminds me of how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity. Please grant our family harmony and help my words foster peace in our family. MY FRIENDS Lord Jesus, Proverbs 17:17 tells us that a friend loves at all times. May it be said of me that I seek my friend s greatest good at all times!
MY CHURCH Heavenly Father, help me serve well according to my gifting so that Shandon may grow in unity, maturity and making disciples (Ephesians 4:11-13). OUR COMMUNITY Lord Jesus, You have ordained that Shandon be salt and light in Columbia (Matthew 5:13). Help me be a good neighbor and citizen, caring for those in need.
LOCAL & GLOBAL MISSIONS Heavenly Father, please give me a desire for the expansion of Your kingdom in my own community and in the countries to which you send Shandon mission teams (Acts 1:8). THE LOST Lord, Luke 19:10 says that You came to seek and save the lost. Help me engage in seeking and presenting the saving Gospel to the lost. Increase my boldness.

PRAISE & THANKSGIVING Heavenly Father, I bless You and remember Your countless benefits (Psalm 103:2). Open my eyes to all the good gifts that are camouflaged by familiarity! SCRIPTURE Lord Jesus, help me truly delight in Your Word and meditate on it day and night (Psalm 1:2). Help me stay the course with my Bible reading.
NOVEMBER We approach the throne of grace not only to seek God s favour, but to give him the glory due to his name. We give him glory by honouring him for his infinite perfections as the one and only living and true God. We also glorify him by gratefully acknowledging the many manifestations of his goodness to us. He gladly accepts our thanks, and regards himself as glorified by them if they arise from a humble heart aware of its own unworthiness to receive any favour from God. Our thanks must come from the heart, a heart that shows genuine appreciation for his gifts, but always loves the Giver more than the gift. MATTHEW HENRY A Way to Pray

FORGIVENESS & REPENTANCE Thank you, Father, for the blessings of repentance and forgiveness (Psalm 32:1). Help me to walk confidently in the knowledge of that blessing today. PERSONAL Lord, in Revelation 2:4, You reminded the church in Ephesus to turn back to their first love! Please help me to walk in Your love as I seek to bring You glory.
MY FAMILY Lord Jesus, Proverbs 15:13 says that happiness makes a person smile, but sadness can break a person s spirit. Give me wisdom with how to bring happiness to my family. MY FRIENDS Father, I m so grateful for the community of friends You ve given me. Help me be a Proverbs 17:17 friend to them as I represent You to others.
MY CHURCH Lord, help me work and serve to build up my brothers and sisters at Shandon. Show me how to use my gifts for their good (1 Corinthians 14:12). OUR COMMUNITY Lord, may I share the joy of my salvation with my neighbors and friends that they also may hear of Your gospel and rejoice (Luke 15).
LOCAL & GLOBAL MISSIONS Heavenly Father, please give me a desire for the expansion of Your kingdom in my own community and in the countries to which you send Shandon mission teams (Acts 1:8). THE LOST Lord, as it says in Luke 15:1-32, please help me to have compassion for those who are lost. Soften my heart towards those who need to know Your love and grace.

PRAISE & THANKSGIVING Father, I thank You for revealing Yourself to me! Help me to not forget your steadfast love. As sure as the seas roar and the rivers flow, I will praise you! (Psalm 98) SCRIPTURE Lord, please correct me and help me grow in righteousness through the power of Your Word (2 Timothy 3:16).
DECEMBER Do not ask only that you be kept from sinning. Ask as well that you become all that you ought to be, and do all that you ought to do. Let Christ be in you as your wisdom, sanctification, righteousness and redemption. Ask him to empower you to die to sin and be buried with Christ in his death, so you may walk in newness of life just as he was raised from death by the glory of the Father. 1 Corinthians 1:30; Romans 6:2, 4 MATTHEW HENRY A Way to Pray

MY FRIENDS I pray, Lord Jesus, that my friends would see Your love overflowing through every word and action in my life as we seek to love one another (1 John 4:7).
MY CHURCH Lord, John 13:35 says that Christians are to be recognized by their love for one another. May Your love characterize Shandon for the glory of Your Name. OUR COMMUNITY Heavenly Father, may I be a faithful witness to my city of what You have done in my life that many others may also know of Your power and love (John 4:39).
