MATTHEW 28:1 8 HE IS RISEN INDEED The centrality of Christ s resurrection is the fulcrum of Christianity Everything we believe hinges upon the resurrection of Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:14 19 14 But if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain, and your faith is in vain. BUT Jesus said He would be raised on the third day! John 2:18 22 18 So the Jews answered and said to him, What sign do you show to us, because you are doing these things? 19 Jesus answered and said to them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up! 20 Then the Jews said, This temple has been under construction forty-six years, and will you raise it up in three days? 21 But he was speaking about the temple of his body. 22 So when he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they believed the scripture and the saying that Jesus had spoken. Buried for 3 days: Arrested Thursday Night Biblical Friday Day 1 Crucified Friday afternoon Biblical Friday Day 1 Died Friday late afternoon Biblical Friday Day 1 Buried just before Shabbat Friday, near Sundown Day 1 Luke 23:50 55 50 And behold, a man named Joseph, who was a member of the council, a good and righteous man 51 (this man was not consenting to their plan and deed), from Arimathea, a Judean town, who was looking forward to the kingdom of God. 52 This man approached Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. 53 And he took it down and wrapped it in a linen cloth and placed him in a tomb cut into the rock where no one had ever been placed. 54 And it was the day of preparation, and the Sabbath was drawing near.

55 And the women who had been accompanying him from Galilee followed and saw the tomb and how his body was placed. Biblical Saturday/Shabbat Friday Sundown to Saturday Sundown Day 2 Sunday begins at Sundown Saturday Day 3 Rose Again Sunday Morning Biblical First Day of week Day 3 Genesis 1:3 5 3 And God said, Let there be light! And there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good, and God caused there to be a separation between the light and between the darkness. 5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day. 1 Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb. There s no doubt that it is Sunday morning.

Mt. Nebo s Stone is a perfect fit! 2 And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it.

I love that the Angel sat on the rolling stone! Jesus came that we might have life! Life in abundance! Is there any rock, any mountain God will not roll away for your healing?

John 10:10 11 10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. 11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. Every heavenly blessing: Ephesians 1:3 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, 3 The Angel s countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. 4 And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men. 5 But the angel answered and said to the women, Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. 6 He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

7 And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you. 8 So they went out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring His disciples word. Paul affirming the Gospel in all of its power: 1 Corinthians 15:1 9 1 Now I make known to you, brothers, the gospel which I proclaimed to you, which you have also received, in which you also stand, 2 by which you are also being saved, if you hold fast to the message I proclaimed to you, unless you believed to no purpose. 3 For I passed on to you as of first importance what I also received, 1. that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, 2. that he was buried, 3. and that he was raised up on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Peter, then to the twelve,

6 then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at once, the majority of whom remain until now, but some have fallen asleep. 7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8 and last of all, as it were to one born at the wrong time, he appeared also to me. 9 For I am the least of the apostles, not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. The supremacy of Christ s resurrection was on Paul s mind! 1 Corinthians 15:14 19 14 But if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain, and your faith is in vain. Question isn t whether Christ was crucified Isn t whether Christ died Isn t whether Christ was buried o The CENTRAL question of Christianity is this Was Christ raised from the dead? 15 And also we are found to be false witnesses of God, because we testified against God that he raised Christ, whom he did not raise if after all, then, the dead are not raised. 16 For if the dead are not raised, Christ has not been raised either. 17 But if Christ has not been raised, your faith is empty; you are still in your sins. 18 And as a further result, those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. 19 If we have put our hope in Christ in this life only, we are of all people most pitiable. Paul is affirming this central doctrine to the Romans as well: Romans 10:8 13 8 But what does it say? The word is near to you, in your mouth and in your heart (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim), 9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth one confesses, resulting in salvation.

Can you believe that Christ did rise from the dead? If so believing can you now confess that with your mouth? It is important you speak this with your lips that your heart may hear you. Here s your prayer: Jesus Only You have the power to forgive my sins and cleanse me of all of my wrongdoing. Jesus Only You can give me new life make me a new person with a new heart Jesus Only You can give me an eternal future of hope and life. Jesus Roll away the stone from my grave of death and addictions Jesus I believe You rose from the grave and can now give new life to all who are dead in our sins! Jesus Please make me new in every way I give you my soul and spirit. Thank you Jesus, for all You ve done and are now doing I love You!!
