Andrew Dow Judith Adam I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. The Peace The peace of the Lord be always with you and also with you. Let us offer one another a sign of peace. Song during which our offerings are given, many will have given in the week by bank standing order I, THE LORD OF SEA AND SKY, I have heard My people cry; all who dwell in dark and sin my hand will save. I, who made the stars of night, I will make their darkness bright. I will speak my word to them. Whom shall I send? Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord? I have heard you calling in the night. I will go, Lord, if you lead me; I will hold your people in my heart. 2 I, the Lord of snow and rain, I have borne my people s pain; I have wept for love of them they turn away. I will break their hearts of stone, give them hearts for love alone; I will speak my word to them. Whom shall I send? Thanksgiving Prayer The Lord is here His Spirit is with us. Lift up your hearts. We lift them to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give thanks and praise. 3 I, the Lord of wind and flame, I will tend the poor and lame, I will set a feast for them my hand will save. Finest bread I will provide till their hearts are satisfied; I will give my life to them. whom shall I send? Daniel L. Schutte Blessed are you, Lord God, our light and our salvation; to you be glory and praise for ever. From the beginning you have created all things and all your works echo the silent music of your praise. In the fullness of time you made us in your image, the crown of all creation. You give us breath and speech, that with angels and archangels and all the powers of heaven we may find a voice to sing your praise:
Holy, holy, holy is the Lord, holy is the Lord God Almighty. Holy, holy, holy is the Lord, holy is the Lord God Almighty Who was and is and is to come, holy, holy, holy is the Lord. How wonderful the works of your hands, O Lord. As a mother tenderly gathers her children, you embraced a people as your own. When they turned away and rebelled your love remained steadfast. From them you raised up Jesus our Saviour, born of Mary, to be the living bread, in whom all our hungers are satisfied. He offered his life for sinners, and with a love stronger than death he opened wide his arms on the cross. On the night before he died, he came to supper with his friends and, taking bread, he gave you thanks. He broke it and gave it to them, saying: Take, eat; this is my body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of me. At the end of supper, taking the cup of wine, he gave you thanks and said: Drink this, all of you; this is my blood of the new covenant, which is shed for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me. Jesus Christ is Lord; Lord, by your cross and resurrection you have set us free. You are the Saviour of the world. Father, we plead with confidence his sacrifice made once for all upon the cross; we remember his dying and rising in glory, and we rejoice that he intercedes for us at your right hand. Pour out your Holy Spirit as we bring before you these gifts of your creation; may they be for us the body and blood of your dear Son. As we eat and drink these holy things in your presence, form us in the likeness of Christ, and build us into a living temple to your glory. Bring us at the last with all the saints to the vision of that eternal splendour for which you have created us; through Jesus Christ, our Lord, by whom, with whom, and in whom, with all who stand before you in earth and heaven, we worship you, Father almighty, in songs of everlasting praise. All the glory, honour and power belong to You, belong to You. Jesus, Saviour, Anointed One, I worship You, I worship You. The Lord s Prayer As our Saviour taught us, so we pray Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.
Breaking of Bread The President breaks the consecrated bread We break this bread to share in the body of Christ Though we are many we are one body, because we all share in one bread. As the assistants receive bread and wine we sing SEEK YE FIRST the kingdom of God And His righteousness, And all these things shall be added unto you, Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! 2 Man shall not live by bread alone, But by every word That proceeds from the mouth of God, 3 Ask and it shall be given unto you, Seek and ye shall find. Knock and it shall be opened unto you, 4 If the Son shall set you free, Ye shall be free indeed. Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free, 5 Let your light so shine before men That they may see your good works And glorify your Father in heaven, 6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, He shall direct thy paths, In all thy ways acknowledge Him, Karen Lafferty Giving of Communion Draw near with faith. Prayer after Communion Father of all, we give you thanks and praise, that when we were still far off you met us in your Son and brought us home. Dying and living, he declared your love, gave us grace, and opened the gate of glory. May we who share Christ s body live his risen life; we who drink his cup bring life to others; we whom the Spirit lights give light to the world. Keep us firm in the hope you have set before us, so we and all your children shall be free, and the whole earth live to praise your name; through Christ our Lord. Amen. O FOR A THOUSAND TONGUES to sing my great Redeemer s praise, my great Redeemer s praise! The glories of my God and King, the triumphs of his grace! 2 Jesus! the name that charms our fears, that bids our sorrows cease, that bids our sorrows cease; tis music in the sinner s ears, tis life, and health, and peace. 3 See all your sins on Jesus laid; the Lamb of God was slain, the Lamb of God was slain; his soul was once an offering made for every soul of man. 4 He breaks the power of cancelled sin, he sets the prisoner free, he sets the prisoner free; his blood can make the foulest clean, his blood availed for me. 5 My gracious master and my God, assist me to proclaim, assist me to proclaim, to spread through all the earth abroad the honours of thy name.
