Why HAPP for the Jubilee Year of Mercy? In order to better understand what our Holy Father is calling us to do for this Jubilee Year, please read the Papal Bull Misericordiae Vultus. Jubilee Year of Mercy begins on December 8 Beginning November 5, We will use 33 Days to Morning Glory (33DMG) to prepare for an International Marian Consecration on December 8, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception. The season of Lent during this Jubilee Year should also be lived more intensely as a privileged moment to celebrate and experience God s mercy. Papal Bull, No. 17 During the entire season of Lent, we will be on the Consoling the Heart of Jesus (CHJ) retreat, which brings retreatants deep into the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Mercy: the word reveals the very mystery of the Most Holy Trinity... the ultimate and supreme act by which God comes to meet us... the fundamental law that dwells in the heart of every person who looks sincerely into the eyes of his brothers and sisters on the path of life. Papal Bull, No. 2 Wisdom & Works of Mercy, beginning with The One Thing is Three, helps us understand the concept of communio (communion) by explaining its three points: Communion with the Trinity; Transforming Communion with Christ; and the Mission of Communion. It is my burning desire that during this Jubilee, the Christian people may reflect on the corporal and spiritual works of mercy.
