Having trouble finding the right gift for a friend or family member? Consider making a donation in their name to the St Vincent de Paul Society of our parish. A special thank you note will be sent to the recipient detailing our work with needy families and many more people, especially children, they can be helped at this blessed time of year. Call 492-4009 for more information or drop off donation at the Parish Office. The celebration of Las Posadas has for many years been a special means of preparing us for the commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ. This beautiful tradition handed down through the years is renewed each year in hopes that it will never be forgotten. I am once again soliciting your help in preparing the schedule for this year. I am so grateful to the many families who in the past have hosted the Posadas and the musicians that have faithfully played and traveled with us. We have many families in this parish and there is no better way of bringing meaning to the season than by hosting the Posadas at your home. I pray that more of you will offer your homes for Posadas this year. If you feel the calling to host the Posadas this season, please call Deacon Jose Lucero at 259-0254 or 345-7397. Posadas will be scheduled on a first come basis; therefore you need to call early so you will not be disappointed. Posadas start on the evening of December 16 and will end at the Christmas Eve Mass at the Mission of San Jose at Los Duranes. A complete list of the hosting homes will be printed in the bulletin on or before December 10. Deacon Jose Lucero Our Lady of Guadalupe The Novena to our Lady of Guadalupe will begin on Sunday December 3rd at 12:00 noon at San José De Los Duranes Church Celebrate Our Lady of Guadalupe Join us in celebrating the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Tuesday December 12 at San Felipe Church. Mananitas will begin at 6:30am followed by Mass at 7:00am. This is a beautiful celebration not to be missed. A reception with coffee and donuts will follow in Moreno Hall. Advent Penance Service December 18, 2017 6:30pm at San Felipe de Neri Church You will have the opportunity to go to Confession with one of 12 priests. You will be ushered to Confession in the order that you arrive at the church.

San Felipe de Neri School Corner On Friday, Nov. 17th, PreK-5th grade enjoyed a visit from the Albuquerque BioVan. The BioVan is a traveling exhibit that depicts the journey of the Rio Grande from its headwaters in the mountains to its mouth at the Gulf of Mexico. Students learn about diverse ecosystems using live animals and plants, along with hands-on biofacts like bones and pelts. Students are encouraged to conserve resources. The BioVan program is free for our students. Eagerness. Today's readings combine to tell a story of eagerness--enthusiasm, zeal, wholehearted dedication. Eager anticipation is not a surprising topic for the Advent season, but very surprising, perhaps, is what our readings urge us to be eager about: the cleansing of sins. Isaiah tells God's people to cry out loudly, proclaiming that the Lord will come with power to comfort them and forgive all their sins. Saint Peter inspires us to "be eager to be found without spot or blemish." In Mark's Gospel, people from all over stream to the Jordan, acknowledging their sins and repenting. John the Baptist preaches the mighty power of the Lamb of God, who takes away our sin. Today's readings wake us up, reminding us how great God is. May we eagerly seek the powerful peace that God's forgiveness brings.
