What amazing words! They truly stand at the center of the Chris an faith. What other religion dares to make such a claim? The answer is none. They are all lies. Only one makes this claim, the one who rose and sent his messengers to tell the world star ng with the angels who announced it to the ladies. But is it true? Stop and consider a couple of things. First, God has made a promise that his Word would never pass away. Yet, this message remains at the heart of each of the Gospels and at the center of all the wri ng of the apostles. Even the prophets of the Old Testament predicted it. It s ll remains, this word, the New Pastor s Pen He is not here, for he has risen! Matthew 28:6 Testament being 2000 years old and the Old Testament is even older. Second, how could so many keep a lie going? Over 500 claimed to see the resurrected Christ at one me. If it were a lie, it would have quickly been uncovered. Finally, the apostles themselves. Eleven went to their deaths and one into exile because they proclaimed the resurrected Lord. Not one me did they buckle. The most powerful men in our country tried to keep a lie going during Watergate and all crumbled to the ground inside of 3 weeks when the story broke. Who had more money, more power humanly speaking, the uneducated apostles or top government officials of Washington. There are many other proofs as well. Yes, it is true. No other religion claims to have ever conquered death by their leading raising from the grave. In This Issue From the Pen of the Pastor Church News & Events Birthdays & Anniversaries April Calendar What does it mean? It is God s amazing way of showing how deep his love for you really is. He rose from being CRUCIFIED! As terrible a death as the cross was, it is here that we come for healing when we doubt God s love in the face of all our weaknesses. You would have not known how deep that love was unless Christ had entered death? You would have not known that his love conquers all so that in love he wants to be with us as he rises to life to live with you! Amazing love. He is risen to be with you out of the deepest love the world has even seen. Cont. on pg. 2

Pastor s Pen cont. What does it mean? It is God s amazing way to tell you that in Him you win, not the world and Satan. What did he not conquer? He beat the educated who thought they were smarter than God s promises. He beat the rich who thought they controlled all things in an evil way by means of money. He beat sickness and death. Look at how they tried to take him down and yet he rose victorious over this all. There is nothing to be afraid of! Not even Satan. With our sin forgiven, Satan has no claim over us! We belong to the Lord. What does it mean? It means he rises to new life to serve God forever having finished with sin. He died to sin once for all but rose to serve God forever in holy love. We are not stuck in our old ways. We live because he rose to live in us. We can fight things that used to enslave us, and he can and does change us with me by his grace and will one day make us perfect in the world to come. He has risen! It is the heart of all our hope! It is the fruit of Calvary. All we can do is stand back and say, Amen! That simply means, gi received by faith. Than you Lord. He has risen; he has risen indeed! And how do you know Jesus is indeed with you? Jesus' visit to His first disciples shows us the how and what of confidence in Christ. (Luke 24:36-49) April 22: "Accept No Substitutes" Speaker Emeritus: Rev. Dr. Ken Klaus We live in a disposable age. If something wears out, breaks down or is lost, we replace it. But who or what can replace Jesus? Who else can save us? (Acts 4:1-12) April 29: "The Answer to Unhappiness" Guest Speaker: Rev. Michael Newman What do you really want? What does your heart yearn for most? A blogger recently asked her readers the question: "If you could say in one word what you want more of in life, what would that be?" Can you guess the number one answer? It was happiness. (Acts 8:26-40)

SOMETHING IS IN THE AIR! We can feel it in the Mid-South and it s the sure feeling that He alone is my Rock and Salvation.! As Christians, we can be confident Jesus will always be there for us, we can count on Him and trust in Him. One of the things Chattanooga is known for is the nickname, Rock City. Lookout Mountain is the rock we can see in the distance from just about every vantage point. We count on it being there, it has always been there. But for strength in faith and everlasting salvation, our eyes look upon Jesus Christ, for He truly is our only Rock and Salvation. He has always been there for us, and will always be there for us!
