The Grammy Salute To Gospel Music we were there too We were a part of the press that attended this prestigious event where the STARS truly came out. GRAMMY-winning artists Edwin and Walter Hawkins, fivetime GRAMMY winner Sandi Patty, and five-time GRAMMY-winning group the Winans, were recipients of The Recording Academy's President's Merit Award at the 2008 GRAMMY Salute To Gospel Music event on June 18 in Washington, D.C. Gospel Recording Artist Crystal Aikens & 21:03 both gave Outstanding performances The Gospel Announcers Guild s Awards Luncheon included entertainment provided by Zomba Music Group artists. What Crystal Aikens had to say Commenting on her Sunday s Best win, Crystal said I don t sing for myself at all. Before I get on stage, I pray. I believe there s something on my voice that causes deliverance and healing. Crystal Aikens was one of the featured artists during the Gospel Announcers Guild Awards luncheon at the 41 st Annual National GMWA Convention.
