Add your prayers to the Zion Prayer Wall; we are honored to pray for and with you. The Prayer Wall is just inside the double doors leading to the fellowship area. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayers. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Everyone needs help at some time At Zion, we have many ways to help you, a loved one, a friend or a neighbor. We can pray. Call anyone on the prayer chain or the church office. We don t go thru life alone. Stephen Ministers are lay people trained to provide one-to-one care to people experiencing a difficult time in life. Please call Pastor Jim at 495-2563 for more information Do you have hardships or short-term projects that you need help with? Helping Hands may be right for you. Contact the office at 495-2563 for more information. Free Thanksgiving Day Dinner at St. Edward Catholic Church in Henning Thursday, Nov 22 nd 12:00 p.m. (noon) to 2:00 p.m. Today s Stewardship Thought: And then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. (MARK 13:26) We will all have that day when we are standing before God and our life is played out like a movie. When this happens and God asks each of us, What have you done with the gifts that I have given you? How will you respond? Tuesday Morning Bible Study: Keep It Shut; What to say, how to say it and when to say nothing at all. Bible Study starts at but many gather in fellowship a little earlier. Come hear God s word, enjoy fellowship and even consume a few delicious treats. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ FREE FOOT CARE CLINIC at ZION What: Foot care for those who cannot care for their own feet adequately. When: Tuesday, Nov., 20 th - Appts. start at 8:30 a.m. Who: Anyone in need bring and/or recommend a friend. 2

How: Call the church office for more information. What to bring: A basin; two towels; your own clippers if available; your own lotion if you prefer. Call Marlys for more information. Thank you! Missions Reflection: There are many ways we can show compassion for people. There are many ways to show we care. An allergy to self-righteousness helps us keep our trust in Christ. By having a healthy allergy, we can run away from our tendency to justify ourselves and instead to show the humility that comes from trusting in Jesus. - - - Allergy to Self-Righteousness. Read Mark 12:38-44. WELCA Christmas Potluck The WELCA Christmas potluck will be at noon on Wednesday, December 5 th. Husbands or significant others are encouraged to attend. Ruth Circle is hosting. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ANOTHER Adult Forum of 2018! When: Nov 25 th at 9:15 a.m. What: Winter Underwater Salvaging Where: Fellowship Hall Presenter: Gary Thompson of Tri-State Diving Gary will present on Winter Underwater Salvaging. As Kristin Henning of Travel Past 50 writes Over more than three decades, Thompson s Tri-State Diving has salvaged cars, motor homes, fishing houses, semi-tractor trailers, pick-up trucks, assorted car trailers, ATVs, and snowmobiles, all dropped unwittingly through the ice. These undertakings are all the more complicated considering cold waters, heavy machinery, questionable leverage, and precarious ice. Recovering sunken boats in summertime seems simple by comparison. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Evening Bible Study: Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome to join in the discussion on Romans - the book of the Bible that turned the church on its head. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ GIVING TREE TAGS Giving Tree tags will be available for the taking on Tuesday, November 20 th, they will be hanging on the farthest SW window of the Fellowship[ Hall right outside Pastor s office (I should probably rename it THE GIVING WINDOW Project?!?!?). Last year a few people asked if the tags could be hung up earlier, prior to Thanksgiving, as so many families do their Christmas shopping over the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend. A GREAT IDEA!!!! Remember there are only three Sundays that the tags will be available (Nov. 25 th, Dec. 2 nd & 9 th ), so choose them early!! Please remember to hang onto the tags for when you return your wrapped gifts to the Church, as the tag MUST be attached in order for the School Personnel to know which household it goes to. All gifts need to be back to the Church by Thursday, December 13 th @ 2:00 p.m. MANY, MANY THANKS for helping with the Project!!!! 3

Christmas Carols of Amor Wed., Dec 5 th 6:00 p.m. Soup Supper 6:45 p.m. Carols Come enjoy beloved carols, talented singers, delicious food and great fellowship. Signup sheets for the soup supper are in the narthex/lobby. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Feeling Lucky? Want to feel like you won the lottery? Signup for 1 week of snow removal! (and hope for no snow!) Zion is looking for able bodied people (or teams) that will remove snow from the entryways. A snow blower is in the shed and we have lots of shovels. This process worked very well last year. Sign up calendar and more information is in the narthex/lobby. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dreams for Kids/Make-A-Wish Silent Auction Dreams for Kids is the local fundraising arm of Make-A-Wish. Funding local wishes is a tall order as wishes can cost as much as $10,000.00. YOU have the opportunity to support local wish children thru the Silent Auction at Zion Dec 2 thru Dec 9 th. The gift baskets and silent auction items will be outside the office door during church and office hours. Pick up a gift for someone on your list and help a critically ill child at the same time.
