Fire Route Guardian Angels Church Parking is not allowed along the Church side of fence separating the Church parking entrance from the school parking lot. This is a Fire Route and parking restricts emergency vehicles from responding to emergencies in the Church. Your vehicle may be towed. If you arrive late for Mass additional parking is available in the Lion s Oval parking lot. Your cooperation is requested. Parish Day at Martyrs Shrine Plan to travel to Martyrs Shrine, Midland on Thursday, July 21 for our area parishes to experience the new Holy Door of Mercy. Come during the day by car or take the air-conditioned bus with friends. During the evening the Shrine is open until 8:30 pm, with Mass at 7:30 pm. Bus details: Leaving St. Francis of Assisi at 9:00 am, stops at St. Columbkille at 9:15 am, Guardian Angels at 9:30 am and Sacred Heart at 9:45 am. We ll visit St. Ignace II mission site and arrive at Martyrs Shrine about 11:00 am. Bus will leave the shrine at 3:00 pm. Cost is $25.00, including entrance fee. See poster for a detailed schedule of the day which includes Noon Mass, Reconciliation, Stations of the Cross, Holy Door of Mercy, Gift Shop, Museum, a talk by resident Jesuit priest. One of only nine located within the Archdiocese of Toronto, our holy door has been built under the guidance of the director of the Martyrs Shrine, Fr. Michael Knox, SJ, using materials native to the area. Ojibwa artist William Monague has been commissioned to create the artwork that will decorate the door and inspire those who traverse it. The artwork, depicting Our Lady Mercy will be rich in symbolism relevant to both the Roman Catholic Church and indigenous peoples. We invite you to visit us this season to gain this Jubilee year s plenary indulgence as we walk towards Christ with Sts. Jean de Brébeuf and his companions.
