CALL TO RECONCILIATION UNISON PRAYER OF BROKENNESS Mighty God, you whispered the universe into being, you called prophets and kings to service and taught the masses from the lakeshore. You are a God who speaks, who calls your children into action. But we aren t always attentive enough to hear. Our world is noisy. We are busy. Sometimes we forget that you invite us to join in your mission, and we imagine the days of hearing your voice are long past. Forgive us, O God, for not clearing the space to be attentive to you. Forgive us for the times we believe that your call is just for other people. Help us to listen better. Open our eyes to need in the world and our hearts to claiming the use of our gifts for your service and glory. (time for silent reflection) POURING OF BAPTISMAL WATER AND ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS RESPONSE OF PRAISE # 582 Glory to God, Whose Goodness Shines on Me Glory to God
AFFIRMATION OF FAITH A Liturgical Affirmation, A New Zealand Prayer Book You, O God, are supreme and holy. You create our world and give us life. Your purpose overarches everything we do. You have always been with us. You are God. You, O God, are infinitely generous, good beyond all measure. You came to us before we came to you. You have revealed and proved your love for us in Jesus Christ, who lived and died and rose again. You are with us now. You are God. You, O God, are Holy Spirit You empower us to be your gospel in the world. You reconcile and heal; you overcome death. You are our God. We worship you.
