Celebration of tfje JJAt Jlr., f r. Saturday, June 21, 2003 10:00 AM. Antioch Baptist Church Augusta, Georgia o < <» i Reverend K.B. Martin, Pastor, Presiding Reverend John A. Crosby, Eulogizing

o Bro. Ike Cash, Jr. October 5th, 1921 -June 14th, 2003 Ike Cash, Jr. entered this life on October 5,1921. Born to the late Mr. Ike Cash, Sr. and Mrs. Civil Tillman-Cash in Valdosta, Georgia. He was blessed to enjoy the benefits of having a large family including six sisters, Juanita, Leola, Alberta, Idella, Mildred and Theola and two brothers, Shellie and Jerome. Of the eight siblings, all of his sisters preceded him in death. As a young man, Ike developed a strong work ethic and often was known to challenge himself by accomplishing tasks that others considered insurmountable. He developed a passion for working in the lumber industry and utilized the skills in business that he learned to develop a solid reputation as an authority on handling and grading of lumber. During his upbringing in Georgia, Ike was inducted into the United States Army and honorably served throughout the World War n campaign. Upon his discharge, he reestablished his professional pursuits in the lumber industry, which ultimately led him to journey to New York in 1943, where he called home for the following fifty-seven years. It was while in New York, that Ike found the apple of his eye, a young lady named Aree Bush. Ike and Aree dated in the early 1950 s and consummated their love for one another by joining in matrimony on March 3, 1952. They worked hard at building a home in South Ozone Park that they and their children, Frank, Flossie and Frances yy^ enjoy over the years. This labor of love bore frnit IS 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren flourished in the Cash household. Ike was a successful business owner and hard, industrious laborer who provided well for his family and taught his family the values of honesty, integrity and diligent work. Ike was known as a very benevolent and generous person, who loved people and would do anything to help you if he could. As he grew older and wiser in life, Ike surrendered his life to the redemptive work of Jesus Christ and accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior as a member of the Community Baptist Church, South Ozone Park, New York. His golden years were spend expounding on the virtues and goodness of God and would always remind his loved ones to "Don t forget to pray" Upon he and his dove, Aree, moving to Augusta in 2000, they began feilowshipping with the beloved saints of Antioch Baptist Church, where Rev. Kenneth B. Martin and the family of Antioch embraced them and loved them as one of their own. lice peacefully made his transition from this life into the presence of the God he so lovingly trusted on Saturday, June 14th, 2003 and he leaves to cherish and celebrate his life: his "beautiful" wife (as he so often referred to her) of 51 years, Aree; his 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Shellie Cash and Jerome Cash; one sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law; a host of nieces and nephews; numerous beloved brothers and sisters in service for the Lord, Jesus Christ; and a wealth of friends, many of whom benefited from his humor, kindness and generosity.

<A rtlmte 310 "Ike" Love Is Sharing and Caring Giving and Forgiving Loving and being loved for the many years we shared Ike Love Is Walking hand in hand Talking heart to heart Seeing through each other s eyes for the many times we cried together. Ike Love Is The time we laughed together Weeping together, praying together. And always trusting and believing. Ike Love Is Thanking God for each other For love that is shared is a beautiful thing For it enriches the soul and makes a glad heart sing. Ike Now I will miss you. I will grieve for you, and the memories of you will be in my heart forever; But I will make it with God on my side Ike I say farewell to you until we meet again. Your loving wife, Aree P.S. No one could say my name like you!

tim0 o (Intimate expressions of Ike Cash, Jr.) "Brother, I just wanted to say that I love you and enjoyed you. I want you to know how much I m going to miss you. We had some good times together and I thank God that we were more than just brothers, we were friends. You meant the world to me and I ll never forget the last words you said to me... "Don t forget to pray". Trust me, Brother, I ll hold on to those words for the rest of my days and I m just going to live right for the Good Lord and look to join you some day up yonder in God s Kingdom." Shellie Cash, Jr. "Papa was one of my personal heroes in life. His values of hard work and love for his family are a shining example of a real man. From the time I was a little boy, he was always there for me and taught me many valuable lessons that have formed the basis for the man I am today. He was one of my best friends, my confidant and my anchor. I am going to deeply miss him and will live out what he often reminded me... "Hold your head up high" and "Don t forget to pray." See ya when I get there, Papa." "" Grandson

"3 i Don t grieve for me For now I m free I m following the path God has laid for me. I took His hand when I heard Him call I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day. To laugh, to love, to work or play. Task left undone must stay that way I found peace at end of the day. If my parting has left avoid, Then fill it with remembered joys. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss O h yes, there s things I too will miss. Be not burdened with time or sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life s been full, I savored much, Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief. Don t lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up our hearts, and share with me, God wanted me NOW, He has set me free. &ppretiation Htknotoletrgtmmt The Family wishes to thank you for your caring thoughts and acts of kindness, your comforting words, cards, telephone calls, food, visits and prayers have served as reminders that we are not alone during this time of our loss. We shall always remember how your love sustained us and shall pray that God will continue to bless you as you have touched us. ~ Mrs. Aree Cash and Family W. H.
