REMEMBER -There s to be a village meeting on Tuesday 26th September in the Village Hall at 7.30pm as the first public step to create a development plan for the parish. This will be your chance to give your own views on the future, to tell everyone what you think would be better if it could be changed and to highlight what you feel are the best things already. If you don t come and have your say, no one will know what you think! So, do keep the date free and make sure you make it to the meeting! **************** NEWS FROM CHURN BENEFICE Summer is the time of year when many people take a holiday, myself included. One of the things my family love to do on holiday is to visit the beach. Splashing in the sea, building sand castle (and knocking them down again), looking for interesting shells and stones to add to the collection and of course eating ice-creams. There is something about sea air that blows the cobwebs away, clears the head and helps give a new perspective on things. Holiday are good for us as they provide us with the opportunity to relax, recharge our batteries and to rest. In the Bible Jesus gives us a wonderful invitation to come and rest in the loving presence of God. In Matthew chapter 11: 28-29 Jesus says Come to me all who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls. As a Christian, I find this a wonderful invitation to come and find real rest in the presence of God. In the presence of God we can just be ourselves, we can talk to God about everything and anything as we are held in God s restoring love.

So, whether you have already been on holiday or have a holiday coming up I hope that your holiday is a time of relaxation and rest and that you have a great time. The total cost for the 8 year life of a defibrillator is 1495 including electrode and battery replacements. + delivery of 10 and electrician to install. There is a grant from CDC available, up to 500 for a total of 4 units, if purchased through South West Ambulance Trust, so we need to move fast to apply. Between July 2017 and June 2019 its aim is to provide health screening, assistive equipment, scholastic materials and school uniforms for 50 disabled children based in five of the poorest rural schools around Kasese. To fund this project Erithoka-Uganda needs to raise 1800.
