Faithnews February 2015 Monthly Newsletter of First Christian Church Mark Your Calendar 2.14 Valentine s Day 2.15 Week of Compassion begins 2.16 Presidents Day 2.18 Ash Wednesday Lent Begins Love never gives up. Love cares more for others than for self. Love doesn't want what it doesn't have. Love doesn't strut, Doesn't have a swelled head, Doesn't force itself on others, Isn't always "me first," Doesn't fly off the handle, Doesn't keep score of the sins of others, Doesn't revel when others grovel, Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth, Puts up with anything, Trusts God always, Always looks for the best, Never looks back, But keeps going to the end. Love never dies. --I Corinthians 13: 4-8a (The Message Bible) Page 1

Many things are possible for the person who has hope. Even more is possible for the person who has faith. And still more for the person who knows how to love. But everything is possible for the person who practices all three virtues. Faith Village Faith Village will be studying the Book of Daniel this month. Brother Lawrence Thank You To our church family: Thank you for all those who helped with food, prayers and memorials for Maxine Phillips during this difficult time. It is much appreciated. In the spirit of Disciples Together, you can help by donating used shoes: ANY size, ANY style, ANY condition. All donated shoes will be sent overseas where native people are being trained to begin a micro-business that will help feed, clothe, and house their families. We will set up a box in the Narthex to collect shoes. Sue Woods, or another member, will pick them up at the end of July. Thanks for being Disciples Together!!
