Between John Surman of in the Province of and Levy Surman and Ely Surman of the other part. Witneseth that the sd John Sirman for and in consideration of the Natural love and affection which he hath & bearth unto the said Levy Sirman and Eli Sirman for the Better Maintaining & Livilihood of them the said Levy Sirmon and Ely Sirmon Hath Given Granted alined... and confirmed and by these presents do give unto the said Levy Sirman and Ely Sirman their heirs Exn admn or assignes all that M... or Tenement of land situated & lying in in the Province afsd on the North side of Sandy Run. Bounded as follows. Beginning at a marked white Oak standing on the North of Sandy Run it being abounds Between the said Sirmon and Francis Rountree and going with that Division lines of Marked Trees Which Surmon and Rountree marked Between them to the upper line of the Original Line of the Patent Thence with the said line.o 77 East to the.. Corner of the Land thence So 13 W. to Sandy Run thence with the said Run to the first Station For 220 Acres more or less which I give to Levy Sirmon Ely Sirmon to them Equally divided between them. Israel Joiner to Levi Sirman, 1783 Book I, pp. 252-253 To all to whom these presents shall come, Greeting. Know ye that I, Israel Joiner, for and in consideration of the sum of ten pounds to me in hand paid before the sealing and delivery of these presents by Levi Sirman, planter of the County and Province aforesaid the receipt where of I do acknowledge and myself therewith to be fully satisfied contented and paid and every part and parcel thereof do exonerate acquit and discharge the said Levi Sirman his Heirs executor administrators or assigns forever and by these presents have given granted bargained unto alienated and confirmed and by these presents do fully and freely and absolutely give grant bargain sale convey and confirm assign and set over unto the said Levi Sirman and to his Heirs forever a tract or parcel of land containing one hundred and fifty acres more or less lying and being in on the South side of Tar River Bounded as follows: Beginning at a marked white oak running East 200 poles to a pine in Surrinah?? Meadow. Thence North 120 poles to a pine. Thence West 200 poles to a pine in Jacob Blounts line. Thence to the first station as the Grant directs, it being a parcel of land the said Israel Joiner, Sen. obtained a grant for in the year 1782. To have and to hold the aforesaid tract of land together with all and singular the Houses Buildings Orchards fences gardens springs wood under woods timber timber trees and all other appurtenances whatsoever there unto belonging unto him the said Levi Sirman his heirs and assigns forever and the said Israel Joiner for myself my heirs executors administrators do covenant promise and agree to and with the said Levi Sirman his heirs and assigns in manner and form as follows that is to say that the said Israel Joiner my heirs executors administrators therefore bargained premises and appurtenances and every part parcel thereof to the said Levi Sirman his heirs executors administrators or assigns against all manner of persons, will warrant and forever defend. Francis Rountree to John Sirman, 1784 Craven County Book I, pp 305-306 To all to whom these presents shall come, I Francis Rountree of Craven in the State and County Afore Said Planter send greeting Know ye that I Francis Rountree of the County and Province Afor Said for and in Consideration of the Sum of Twenty Five pounds of good and Lawfull Money of the State to me in hand paid before the Ensealing and Delivery of these presents by John Sirman Planter of teh County of Pitt and Province afor Said the Receipt whereof I do acknowledge and myself therewith fully satisfied contented and paid and every part and parcel thereof to bequit and discharge the Said John Sirman his heirs Executors Administrators or assigns forever and by these presents do fully and freely and absolutely give grant bargain sell deliver convey confirm assign and set over unto the said John Sirman and to his Heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of Land containing one hundred acres Lying and being in Beaufort County on the South Side of Cambells Creek and on the East side of Smiths Creek, Beginning at a pine on the South of Smiths Creek Running down Cambells Creek Past 126 pole to a pine then South 15 degrees East 126 pole to a pine then West 126 pole to Smiths Creek then with the Windings of the Creek to the first Beginning. To have and to hold the Aforesaid Tract or parcel of Land Together with all and Singular the House Orchards Gardens Fences ways Springs Woods under Woods Timber Timber Trees and all other Appurtainences Whatsoever to the same belonging or in any wise appurtaning unto him the Said John Sirman his heirs and assigns forever and I the Said Francis Rountree for myself my heirs Executors Administrators do Covenant grant promise and agree to and with the said John Sirman his heirs and assigns in manny and form as follows that is to say that I the Said Francis Rountree me my Heirs executors Administrators The pre Bargained premisses appurtaineces and every part and parcel thereof to the said John Sirman his heirs Executors Administrators Assigns Against all manner of persons whatsoever shall and will forever Warrent and defend. John Sirmon to Eli Sirmon, 1785 Book I, pp. 454-455 This Indenture made this 8 day of March in the year of our Lord 1785 between John Sirmon of in the State aforesaid and Eli Sirman son of the said Sirman of the Afore mentioned County and State of the other. Witness that the Said John Sirman for and in consideration of the natural love and affection which he hath and bear unto the said Eli Sirman for the better maintaining and lively hood of him, the said Eli Sirman, hath given, granted, alienated,..., confirmed, and by these presents do give, grant unto the said Eli Sirman his heirs, executors, administrators, or assigns a certain measure or tenement of land situated and lying in in the State aforesaid on the North side of Sandy Run Bounded as... Beginning at a Marked Gum standing on the North side of Sandy Run and run from thence North till it comes to the line of the Original Patent. Thence with the said line South 77 East to the third Corner a marked Pine is being the third corner of the original Patent. Thence South 13 West with the Original line 182 poles to Sandy Run. Thence down the Sd Run to the first Station for 100 ten acres more or less, it being part of a patent Daniel Oguin (O Gwin?) obtained a right to March 27the in the year 1750. To have and to hold the aforesaid land together all and singular the Houses, Orchards, Buildings, Gardens, fences Saring Ways, Woods, and Timber, Timber Trees, and all the appurtances there unto belonging in any wise appertaining unto him the said Eli Sirman his heirs, Administrators, an assigns, forever and I the Said John Sirman for myself, my heirs, Executors, Administrators, do covenant, grant, and agree to and wish the said Eli Sirman his Heirs, Executors, Administrators, in form and manner as follows, that is to say that I the said John Sirman do give the Above mentioned Land and premises to him, the said Eli Sirman, to him, his heirs, Executors, and assigns, forever providing he or they should not debar me of any privilege I may want on it during my life. Eli Sirmon to Hardy Johnston, 1799 Deed Book O, p. 240 This Indenture made this Seventeenth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine between Eli Sirmon of the State No. Carolina and County of Pitt of the one part and Hardy Johnston of the other part. Witness that I the said Eli Sirmon for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred pounds to me in hand paid by the said Hardy Johnston the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge and myself fully satisfied contented and paid have bargained sold and delivered unto the said Hardy Johnston his heirs executors administrators and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County aforesaid and on the North Side of Sandy run Containing two hundred acres be the same more or less: beginning at a marked Gum standing on the North Side of Sandy Run and runs from thence North until it comes to the line of the original patent then with said line.
