Thirty-Third Sunday in Ordinary Time November 18, 2018 Page Three A Thanksgiving Prayer Lord God, all powerful and ever loving, we ask You on this Thanksgiving Day to give us grateful hearts. Open our hearts so that we may enjoy the gifts You have given us and see the beauty around us in all Your creation. May we give thanks for the daily gifts of good food, family and friends and, especially, enjoy these gifts with thanksgiving. May we never take for granted the comfort of our homes, the blessings of our family and the knowledge of Your love. And though we sometimes feel the stress of our duties and cares, thank You for the grace You give us to see them through. When we come to the end of this day and every day thereafter, may our hearts still be grateful and our prayers full of thanksgiving. Amen. New Minister Schedule Coming Soon! ATTENTION, MINISTERS: The next weekend minister schedule will cover Saturday/Sunday, December 1 & 2, through Saturday/Sunday, March 2 & 3. Included will be the holy day (the Immaculate Conception, December 8), and the Masses for Christmas and New Year. For scheduling purposes, Email mkoshar@dioceseofgreensburg.org or call the Parish Office, 724-872-3555, by this Wednesday, November 21, if you plan to be away during this time and do not want to be scheduled on a specific day. Cantors, call Rosemary Hako, 724-379-6653, for scheduling. LIFE CAN CHANGE IN AN INSTANT: A car crash, cancer diagnosis or medical emergency can mean an immediate need for a blood transfusion. And it could be the person sitting next to you in the pew. That s why keeping the blood supplies stocked is so important. Transform lives in an hour or less by giving blood. Consider giving this gift of life in the Social Hall on Wednesday, November 28, from Noon until 6:00 p.m. Visit vitalant.org or call Vitalant (formerly Central Blood Bank) at 1-877-258-4825 to make your appointment. Group Code for the Church of St. Anne is G0040250. KIDNEY NEEDED!! Carol Duda, a family member of our parishioner, is in need of a kidney. She has been going through dialysis for more than a year. She is in dire need of someone who may be a match. The donor should be blood type O+. If you think you can assist the family, contact Carol or Joe, 724-324-9161 or 724-833-5636. LIVING GOD S WORD No one likes transitions. They re filled with pain, and they re unsettling and confusing and demand that we surrender control. But that is when God comes. At such moments a great peace rushes in and faith in God is renewed simply because faith in ourselves does not work anymore. At that point we come face to face with God. Copyright 2014, World Library Publications. All rights reserved. HAPPY THANKSGIVING! At this time of year we pause as a nation to give thanks to God for the abundant blessings upon each of us and our nation. It s also a time to gather as a family for a festive meal often times with family who may not always be with us in body! Our bodies will be well taken care of with all the turkey and fixings around the dinner table. But we also gather at the Church around the Lord s table to be fed with his sacred Body and Blood. Join us for Mass on Thanksgiving morning at 9:00 a.m. to come together as a faith family celebrating thanks for many blessings God has bestowed on us. IN CELEBRATION OF THANKSGIVING, the Parish Office will be closed this Thursday and Friday, November 22 and 23 in conjunction with the Pastoral Center of the Diocese of Greensburg. Normal business hours will begin on Sunday, November 25, at 8:30 a.m. A Note of Gratitude Church of St. Anne, We want to express our heartfelt thanks to our Church family for the outpouring of cards and good wishes on our 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration. May God bless each and every one of you for your kindness and thoughtfulness. Love, Jim & Gerry Stump TAKE TIME TO SMILE! One morning a woman said to her husband, I bet you don t know what day this is? Of course, I do, he indignantly answered, going out the door on his way to the office. At eleven o clock, the doorbell rang; and when the woman answered it, she was handed a box containing a dozen long-stemmed red roses. At one o clock, a foil-wrapped box of her favorite chocolates arrived. Later in the afternoon, a boutique delivered a designer dress. The woman couldn t wait for her husband to come home. First the flowers, then the candy, and then the dress! she exclaimed when he walked in the door. I ve never had a more wonderful Groundhog Day in my whole life! Keep smiling!!
