From The East Greetings Ladyʼs and Brethren, First of all I like to apologies for the delay of the Hour Glass for the past month due to technical difficulties we were unable to mail it on time. Hopefully it wonʼt happen in the future. My congratulation to Bro. Ronni Zulu for his proficiency on the Fellowcraft degree and also for been raised to the Master mason degree on Sept. 9th and my thanks to all the officers of our lodge for doing such a great job at all the degrees throughout this year. Also on Sept. 23rd we did have the dedication of our menʼs lounge to our departed Bro. Audie Leon Murphy. The event was great and the turnout was good. My thanks to Brothers Ron Presser, Steve Barr, Dennis Hadley, Jan Eddy, George Chip Robinson, Michael Mac- Farlane, Jim Sandsberry, and Louis Bizzaro for their hard work to make this event possible. Also on the same evening we did celebrate the constitution observance. Mr. Dale Reynolds preformed as the 3rd President of our country Thomas Jefferson who took us back in time to his era as he answered the questions from the attendees. My thanks also to Bro. Aram Bogossian who was preparing the Hour Glass for our lodge. Due to work constrains he is unable to continue. I wish him the best of luck and many thank to his work for the last few years for putting the Hour Glass together every month. My thanks to Bro. Geoffrey Schumann for taking the responsibility of the Hour Glass for the rest of this year. Also I want to thank Bro. Ronni Zulu for designing www.thehourglass542.com on the Internet, I have seen it and it looks great. We are very fortunate to have so many talented members at our lodge who are willing and able to participate to the best of their abilities. Always On The Level, Avedis Abdoyan Master
From The West Dear Brethren and Ladies, What a fun month it was. I would like to thank Bros. Jim Sandsberry, Dennis Hadley, Worshipful Jan Eddy, Worshipful Avedis Abdoyan, Bros. George Chip Robinson, Steve Barr, Louie Bizzaro and Michael MacFarlane for their wonderful help in assisting me with the Audie L. Murphy Lounge Dedication. We had an excellent turn out for the event and the ceremony went very well. The Audie L. Murphy Lounge will be a work in progress honoring the life of Americaʼs most decorated soldier. We have on display almost all of his medals and hope to finish them soon. We also have his Masonic application when he joined our Lodge. I hope at the next Stated meeting you take a moment and take a look. Standing in the West, Brother Ronald E. Presser Senior Warden From the office of the Secretary Please see the printed hourglass for the Secretary s article.
From The South Good day Brethren and ladies. When the month of October arrives, it naturally brings with it the cold weather, warmer clothing and serious business. Time for fun and vacations for most of us are behind. Specially, the officers of 542 including the new line, whom will be joining us in the 2004-2005 ensuing year. We have job to accomplish -a dream, that our ancient Brother Master Masons to the latest Past Masters, had worked so hard to keep and maintain our unique lodge on its foundation morally and financially. Each and every one of us has to contribute from the youngest Entered Apprentice to Master of the lodge. Contribute by any way that you can, by spending your precious time in teaching other brothers, by donating your hard earned dollar, by sharing your God given talents and so forth. In conclusion. This magnificent lodge belongs to all of us brethren and it is our responsibility to aid and assist the upcoming Worshipful Master. Do not wait for him to assign you, but take the incentive and show up on your own to the events, special dinners and child ID program activities, to show the community and American people, that Masons are still the most sought fraternal organization in the nation. From the meridian highest. Brother Vartan Assadourian J.W. A Thought For The Day - Submitted by Worshipful Jan Eddy ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Truth does not have to be explained. It is evident the moment you encounter it.truth has no need of elaborate attempts at sophistication. For in its very simplicity, truth is indeed profound. Truth can often be difficult to accept. Yet it is at the same time easy to understand. Falsehood and deception require ever-expanding support in order to continue. And the day will always come when they crumble under the weight of their own contradictions. Truth, on the other hand, becomes ever brighter and more compelling as each day passes by. Truth welcomes every scrutiny, and grows stronger as a result. Align your thoughts, your words, your actions, your life with what you know to be true. And the power of truth will pull you steadily forward.

The All-Seeing Eye There is an eye through blackest night A virgil ever keeps; A vision of unerring light, Oʼer lowly vale, Oʼer giddy height, The Eye that never sleeps. Mids poverty and sickness lain, The outcast lowly weeps; What marks the face convulsed with pain? What marks the softened look again? The Eye that never sleeps. No limit bounds thʼ Eternal Sight; No misty cloud oʼersweeps; The depths of hell give their light Eternity ifs self is bright The rest we calm, though round our head The life-storm fiercely sweeps; What fear is in the blast!! What dread in mightier death! An Eyeʼs oʼerhead. The Eye that never sleeps. --by: Rob Morris LL. D.
