VISION 2020 The Next Step Up Acts 1:1-11 March 1, 2015 AM Service I am so excited about what we are sharing with you today that I can hardly stand it! Our Vision Team has been working on and crafting this report to bring to you for over the last year & ½. This is isn t the Preacher s Vision this is this team s vision alongside me. Remember last week we talked about a lot of what if s. What if we allow the Lord to do this or ask the Lord to do this or our members stepped up and did this, or our Church fulfilled it s calling in certain ways? This morning we want to start looking at how to turn many of those what if s into reality. We are not looking at some ways to tweak what we are doing, make some minor adjustments, we are asking the Lord to a fresh, radical work in the lives of those here @ Petal FBC that goes far beyond what we have ever encountered before. We are just hoping to make a small dent in the lostness of Petal, but to make a significant impact here, not just a small on in MS, or North America, or the place we go in the ends of the earth. We are asking the Lord to do something with us that is way beyond us that is big, huge, eternal that will require much of us! He has given us much and in Luke Jesus reminds us that much will be required. SO this morning we are set and ready to go and now we want to ask what is the next step? Not what will we do necessarily in 2020 although we have that in mind, but what is our next step as a church and what is my next step up in my life personally in each of these areas. We are setting before us a Vision a mark to hit, a Goal to work towards, a challenge to rise to and it is one that is so far beyond us that it will require us to depend completely on the Lord to make it happen. We can t do it! It won t happen just because we try hard. It happens as we understand that live this life as if it all depended on us knowing that it all depends on the Lord and His Spirit. We need a fresh vision that everyone in our Church can embrace, understand, and can be a part of. Proverbs 11:14 Where there is no vision the people perish. We discovered from the Transformational

Church Assessment (which is one of the tools that we used that helped set us on the path of crafting this Vision Report) that we didn t know what our vision was and where exactly were we headed as a church and people couldn t identify that! Our prayer is that by the time we get through in 6 weeks is that everyone will know, understand, and completely embrace every aspect of Vision 2020. The Challenge A Renewed Vision Transformation We desire to be radically transformed by God into a people He can use to transform others. It firsts start with our transformation in every area of our lives. This is the prerequisite and the requirement before we can do anything. Once we allow the Lord to do this transformational work in our lives then the Lord can begin to use us to be a conduit, a vehicle through which He can move in the lives of people so their lives transformed as well!
