Join Our Men s Council for Advent Three Wednesdays, 7-8:30 p.m., Parish Center Our Men s Council is for men 18 and older, who come together for prayer and sincere discussion in an atmosphere of trust. Sometimes we use a book or other readings as a guide. We meet on 3 Wednesdays: December 5, 12, and 19. Thirty-Third Sunday in Ordinary Time Christmas Giving Tree Gifts Due December 9 This year we are helping six local programs that provide food, clothing, and toiletries to the homeless, care for the elderly, and gifts for children in need. To participate, please take a tag (or 2 or more), affix it to your unwrapped gift, and return the gift to St. Peter s no later than December 9th. All gifts should be new items. Thank you, as always, for being such generous neighbors! The Harvard Square Churches Meal Program serves a nutritious sit-down dinner to over 120 people every Thursday at Christ Church. They would like $10 Dunkin Donut Gift Cards, as well as scarves, hats, men's coats, sleeping bags, blankets, and backpacks. Please hand Gift Cards to a Parish Staff member or drop off at the Parish Office. Bridge Over Troubled Waters is dedicated to transforming the lives of runaway, homeless, and highrisk youth with services that guide them toward self sufficiency. They need large backpacks filled with toiletries (soap, deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, lotion, hand sanitizer), winter clothing (heavy winter socks, winter coats, hats, gloves, sweaters, sweatpants, sleeping bags and other warm items), water bottles, flashlights and batteries, and hand and foot warmers. For many kids, the backpack and its contents become home as they navigate through life on the streets. East End House has served area residents for over 140 years, providing a wide range of programs and services to a diverse population to strengthen family and community and to give families the resources they need to help their children succeed. Cambridge Family & Children Services provides help for foster and group care, adoption, developmental disabilities, and family support, all programs that support children and youth and to strengthen families throughout Massachusetts. Sancta Maria Nursing Facility, sponsored by the Daughters of Mary of the Immaculate Conception, is a skilled nursing facility providing short-term rehabilitation, long-term care and a range of related health care services in a truly caring, nurturing environment. They need Lap Blankets and Amaryllis Plants. St. Peter Parish School Lunch Program A donation of $3.50 a day or $17.50 a week provides a hot lunch for a student in need. Please hand donation to a Parish Staff member or drop off at the Parish Office. 5
