At the close of the service, please call for your child. Both centers are located upstairs, first hallway on the left. As a courtesy, please switch your cell phones off or to silent mode. Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts (1 Chronicles 16:8-9). That is exactly what we are gathered to do just like the Israelites did thousands of years ago when the ark of the covenant was brought back to Jerusalem. May we indeed give him praise together this morning in worship. Welcome! This morning Pastor Michael will continue his series on I John Walking in the Light looking at I John 2:3-17. Next week, we will study I John 2:18-25. We will also take a few moments this morning and begin to prepare our hearts and minds for communion. Next week we will come to the tale of grace to remember and believe that we have been forgiven for all of our sins, in Jesus Christ. Along with our regular Sunday School classes, Pastor Michael will also be holding his sermon discussion class at 11:00 in the sanctuary. Everyone is welcome to attend as we will focus on this question: What does it look like to obey God s commands in your life? Please keep your council members in prayer as they meet tomorrow night to, among other things, approve the agenda for the upcoming congregational meeting, finalize nominations for new office-bearers, and discuss the 2019 operating budget. SNL will be back next week Sunday, October 14 th! Kids Club, Cadets, and GEMS will all be meeting as will Pastor Michael s ALPHA Course where we will take up the question, Who is Jesus? Everyone is welcome. The deacons gratefully acknowledge the September 30, 2018 receipts: General Fund-$5,485 and Building Fund-$901. Your offerings next Sunday, October 14, will be received for the Benevolent Fund; on October 21 for GAP (Guatemala) and October 28, Food Resource Bank. Please pray for Ed Winters. Ed was admitted to the Princeton Hospital earlier last week for breathing problems. Doctors treated him for bronchitis and COPD. We rejoice that Diana Krueger had successful shoulder surgery this past week. Please keep her in your prayers as she continues her long recovery. We express our sympathy to the families of Carol Veurink and Mary Koppendrayer following the death of their father, Bennie Groen. Bennie s funeral was this past Wednesday and it was a celebration of a life lived for Jesus. Please keep Richard Clark in your prayers as he spent some time in the Mora Hospital with heart trouble. Les Ruis thanks you for your prayers. He had a stent inserted and feels much better. Please keep John and Sheryll Kjos in your prayers. Sheryll is scheduled for surgery this Thursday, October 11, at the University of MN hospital to remove a mass on her ovaries.
