The Spiritual Gift of DISCERNMENT Discernment aids the body by recognizing the true intentions of those within or related to the body. Discernment tests the message and actions of others for the protection and well-being of the body. Hebrews 5:14 1 John 4:1-6 Acts 17:11 1 Corinthians 12:10 Sensitive to the voice of the Spirit Intuitive Insightful Decisive Observant Identifies deception in others with accuracy and appropriateness Can sense the presence of evil Recognizes discrepancies in a teaching or message IDENTIFIYING Have people in the church noted that you can see through phoniness before it is clearly evident? That you are usually aware of deception? When you read a religious book, are you able to detect outright errors from the truth? Can you sense when the atmosphere in a worship service is mere emotion and not a response directed by the Holy Spirit? Can you spot cult teachings that mix some truth with many false teachings? Are you able to recognize inconsistencies in teaching that is filled with error and is not Biblical? Do other Christians affirm your ability to discern truth from lies and/or counterfeits? The Spiritual Gift of SHEPERDING The gift of shepherding is manifested in persons who look out for the spiritual welfare of others. Although pastors, like shepherds, do care for members of the church, this gift is not limited to a pastor or staff member. Have other people told you that you had faith to accomplish what seemed impossible to them?
