Please join us for coffee and conversation in the lobby immediately after the worship service. We have bible study / Sunday school classes for all ages. You can find the time, topic, and location for each class at the Welcome Center. We have a clean, efficient and safe nursery available for infants and toddlers in the education wing of the church. We also have a cry room in the back of the sanctuary, so please feel free to use it when needed. As part of the covenant community, children are invited to participate in worship. We also offer a Children s Worship program during the sermon for children ages K4 through 2nd grade in Room 5. The children are dismissed during the singing of the Doxology by walking to the back of the sanctuary and following the Children s Worship leader out.

Let us quiet our hearts before the Lord Welcome & Announcements **Call to Worship (Please Stand) Psalm 24:7-10 Leader: Lift up your heads, O you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. People: Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. Leader: Lift up your heads, O you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. All: Who is he, this King of glory? The LORD Almighty-- he is the King of glory. *Hymn Rejoice, the Lord Is King Hymn #310 **The Invocation

**The Apostles Creed I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. **The Gloria Patri Hymn # 734 Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen. The First Scripture Lesson Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain? 2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against his Anointed, saying, 3 Let us burst their bonds apart and cast away their cords from us. 4 He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord holds them in derision. 5 Then he will speak to them in his wrath, and terrify them in his fury, saying, 6 As for me, I have set my King on Zion, my holy hill. 7 I will tell of the decree: The Lord said to me, You are my Son; today I have begotten you. 8 Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage, and the ends of the earth your possession. 9 You shall break them with a rod of iron and dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel. 10 Now therefore, O kings, be wise; be warned, O rulers of the earth. 11 Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. 12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish in the way, for his wrath is quickly kindled. Blessed are all who take refuge in him. Psalm 2 ESV Leader: People: The Word of the Lord Thanks be to God

The Confession of Our Sins Almighty God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, maker of all things, judge of all men; we acknowledge and confess our many sins; which we, from time to time, most grievously have committed; by thought, word, and deed; against thy divine majesty. We do earnestly repent; and are heartily sorry for these our misdoings the remembrance of them is grievous unto us. Have mercy upon us; have mercy upon us, most merciful Father; for Thy Son our Lord Jesus Christ s sake; forgive us all that is past; and grant that we may hereafter serve and please Thee in newness of life; to the honor and glory of Thy name; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. -Adapted from the Book of Common Prayer The Assurance of Pardon For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, And abundant in lovingkindness to all who call upon You. Psalms 86:5 The Choral Response Lead Me, Lord, Lead Me in Thy Righteousness George Whelpton Lead me, Lord, lead me in thy righteousness, make thy way plain before my face. For it is thou, Lord, thou, Lord, only, that makest me dwell in safety. The Second Scripture Lesson 11 Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war. 12 His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are many diadems, and he has a name written that no one knows but himself. 13 He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of God. 14 And the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, were following him on white horses. 15 From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. 16 On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords. Revelation 19:11-16 ESV Leader: People: The Word of the Lord Thanks be to God

The Pastoral Prayer & The Lord s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen The Anthem Crown Him Lord of All! Marty Parks All hail the pow'r of Jesus name! Let angels prostrate fall. Bring forth the royal diadem, and crown him Lord of all! Ye chosen seed of Israel s race, ye ransomed from the fall, hail him who saves you by his grace, and crown him Lord of all! Sinners, whose love can ne er forget the wormwood and the gall, go spread your trophies at his feet, and crown him Lord of all! Let ev ry kindred, ev ry tribe on this terrestrial ball, to him all majesty ascribe, and crown him Lord of all! Crown him Lord! Crown him Lord! Forever worshipped; forever adored! (Repeated) Crown him, you martyrs of your God, who from his altar call; extol the stem of Jesse s rod, and crown him Lord of all! O, that with yonder sacred throng we at his feet may fall! We ll join the everlasting song, and crown him Lord of all! We ll join the everlasting song, and crown him Lord of all! Lord of all! Lord of all! The Third Scripture Lesson 33 So Pilate entered his headquarters again and called Jesus and said to him, Are you the King of the Jews? 34 Jesus answered, Do you say this of your own accord, or did others say it to you about me? 35 Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Your own nation and the chief priests have delivered you over to me. What have you done? 36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world. (Continued )

37 Then Pilate said to him, So you are a king? Jesus answered, You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice. 38 Pilate said to him, What is truth? After he had said this, he went back outside to the Jews and told them, I find no guilt in him. 39 But you have a custom that I should release one man for you at the Passover. So do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews? 40 They cried out again, Not this man, but Barabbas! Now Barabbas was a robber. John 18:33-40 ESV Leader: People: The Word of the Lord Thanks be to God **The Offertory Hymn Crown Him with Many Crowns Hymn #295 **Offertory Prayer of Dedication The Offertory Praise to the Lord, the Almighty Arr.
