FEBRUARY 15, 2015 You are merciful to all, O Lord, and despise nothing that you have made. You overlook people s sins, to bring them to repentance, and you spare them, for you are the Lord our God. Wisdom 11 Dear Parishioners and Friends, We begin the Holy Season of Lent on Ash Wednesday of this week. Ashes will be given out at the 8:15am and 6:30pm masses. On Ash Wednesday and all Fridays of Lent, Catholics who have completed their 14th year and older must abstain specifically from eating meat or poultry. Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are the only two days during the Church year that adult Catholics (until age 60) are also obligated to fast by eating small, simple meals. We will again be offering the Little Black Book Series for Lenten meditation. We will also be sending out our Lenten Schedule that will include our Tuesday Soup Suppers each followed by a variety of Lenten Reflection and Music. Please take a moment to mark your calendars for all these great Lenten opportunities to journey with our Lord through Lent! Also, the annual Diocesan Day of Penance will occur on Tuesday, March 24. Reconciliation is always offered from 3:30pm-4:30pm every Saturday evening. The Sacrament of May God bless you this Lenten season and may God s love fill your heart this week! Fr.
