CHANCEL REMODEL Phase II has officially begun! It is time to sit back, relax and enjoy the new look to our sanctuary and, especially, to our chancel area. There may still be some changes forthcoming in the next couple of weeks but nothing major will be undertaken until after the New Year. There is painting to still be completed in the overflow area and the lower walls in the main sanctuary. Carpet will be laid in the middle of January. If you have any comments regarding what has been completed and/or suggestions for the next phase, please talk with one of the Refresh Committee members: Debi Anderson, Bill Chambers, Donna Durbin, Jeff Hintzman, or Peter Klammer. ONE LAST EVENT CELEBRATING THE REFORMATION The new film, Luther: An Idea that Changed the World, will be shown on Friday, December 1 st, at 7:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, corner of 10 th and Monroe. Sponsored by Thrivent, this is a free event although call the church (541-754-7211) to get tickets. Light refreshments will be provided. Please mark your calendars! On Sunday December 3 rd, starting at 10:30 a.m., Fred and Dianne Taft will be giving a trip report from their recent outreach trip to Romania; this is the fourth year they have volunteered in Brasov. This is likely to be their last volunteer trip to Romania, so be sure to come to their presentation, to learn about their recent experiences... and to learn more about what changes have been taking place in Romania. Sprucing up our Space All Hands on Deck! Saturday, December 9 th 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Come spend your morning with fellow members as we work on cleaning projects inside and outside the church. There is something for everyone - some jobs a bit more physical (outside: rake leaves in the parking lot and islands and check roof downspouts) while some can be done while sitting at a table (inside: cleaning out cupboards and closets). Coffee, hot tea, cider, and lots of fellowship!!
