The Social Concerns Ministry decided it wanted to do more to help the parish and the community. 2) Social Concerns wants to start a program to pair elderly/housebound/lonely parishioners with a buddy. We are looking for buddies! This volunteer opportunity would require only that you visit/call/check in with a person with whom you will be paired. This would not require delivery of Eucharist, any special training, or providing rides. The idea is merely to interact with someone who could use some genuine human contact. 3) Social Concerns wants to start a program to send cards to persons in prison. This activity would likely mainly take place around holidays and may involve forwarding of recycled Catholic publications. The mailings would never require you to identify yourself or your address. 4) Our parish will be helping again this year with the Gahanna Lunch Program in June.
