PAGE 4 CASINO NIGHT There were about 100 in attendance on the night and drinks and chips were flowing and overflowing! Thank you to ALL of you who made Casino Night such a success!!! It was a lot of fun. Thanks to Carina and Marge of the decorating Committee. Thank you to the wonderful staff who helped us on the night itself. Our grand prize winner for most chips at the end of the night was won by Mr David Gilinsky (which he very generously donated back to our cause...thank you!). Second was Mrs Tzipi Amsili and third place was won by Mr. Noah Schatz. Special mention goes to Limor Vapni for coming a very, very close fourth The Jewish Women s Auxiliary would like to thank: Olya and Kobi Azriel for donating the gaming tables, the posters and providing the four great dealers for the evening Carina Sarfati and Marge Gilinsky as Decorations Committee and for donating the casino decorations for the night Miriam Azaria and Maricar Dayan as Food Committee for the menu preparation and purchase of the food and drinks for the evening Fiona Malca and Anne Zeitoune for Casino Management Committee on the night itself and Fiona for donation of the tickets, raffle stubs and chips for the event. According to Rabbi Talmid, we have the largest library in Southeast Asia. It is here for your reading and learning pleasure. The Beast that Crouches at the Door BY Rabbi David Fohrman Rabbi David Fohrman lectures internationally on Biblical themes. He heads the Curriculum Initiative of the Areivim Philanthropic Group, and directs the Hoffberger Institute for Text Study. He currently resides in Woodmere, NY with his wife and children, where he also serves as resident scholar at the Young Israel of Woodmere. Rabbi Fohrman's first book, The Beast that Crouches at the Door, was a finalist for the 2007 National Jewish Book Award. In earlier years, Rabbi Fohrman served as a senior editor and writer for ArtScroll's Schottenstein Edition of the Talmud, and taught Biblical themes at the Johns Hopkins University.
