This installment of The Funny Nun comes to St. Peter Damian on Saturday, December 1st at 7:00 pm. Tickets are on sale after all the Masses and will be available at the Parish Office during the week. Giving Tree This Christmas season, St. Peter Damian is again providing cheer to children and families in need who receive services from Catholic Charities. If you would like to make Christmas a little merrier for an individual who needs help, please choose an ornament from the Christmas trees that are located in the vestibule of the church. Each ornament indicates the name and age of the recipient in addition to several wish list items that they have provided. Please take a tag from the tree and buy a gift for that person. After purchasing a gift, we ask that you wrap it, securely tape the tag on the top of the gift and return it by 11 am on December 2nd. This deadline is very important to ensure that the gifts will be distributed to the intended individuals. It will not be possible to distribute gifts received after the deadline. Please make sure that if you take a tag you buy and return a gift on time we are counting on you. Show these individuals that people care about them. Thank you and God bless you for your commitment to help the poor and vulnerable! Thank you We would like to sincerely thank everyone for making our Faith Formation bake sale a success. A special thank you to Wendy Hendrickson, Karen Root and Pat Juvingo for coordinating the bake sale. To all the Faith Formation students who baked for the sale, thank you very much. SPRED is a Faith Formation program for children and adults with special needs. Small faith communities welcome these individuals and offer the promise of inclusion in the sacramental life of the parish. Every parish in the Archdiocese of Chicago is called to offer appropriate faith formation for persons of all ages with special needs. SPRED is the answer to that call. Parishes work in collaboration with one another. A group of parishes form a network of SPRED programs to respond to both children and adults with developmental and/or cognitive disabilities. St. Peter Damian is part of this mission. A SPRED group for children 6-10 years old will begin at our parish in the fall. This group will meet every other Thursday beginning October 11th evening from 6:00-7:30pm in the chapel lower halls. If you know someone with special needs who may benefit from SPRED, please contact St. Peter Damian Faith Formation Office at faithformation@stpeterdamian.org or by phone at 630-830-2295. Mary Doeseckle, the SPRED coordinator, will be happy to answer any questions you may have. You may visit the SPRED website at www.spred-chicago.org. Have you considered belonging to our Church family? 7
