JESUS LOVES JOHN 9:1-41 Then he said, Lord, I believe! And he worshiped Him. John 9:38
UNDERSTANDING THE STORY: Jesus saw a man who was blind. What does it mean to be blind? How long had this man been blind? The disciples wanted to know why this man was born blind. Jesus told the disciples that God was going to work in this man s life. When hard things happen to people, is Jesus able to make good things happen? Jesus spat on the ground and He made clay (mud) with the spit. What did Jesus do with the mud? What did Jesus tell the blind man to do after putting mud on his eyes? Did the blind man obey Jesus? What happened when the man washed in the pool? Imagine what it was like for this man to see for the very first time ever. Some people, called Pharisees, did not believe in Jesus and did not like what Jesus had done. Jesus had changed this man s life in a wonderful way. Did the man who used to be blind, believe in Jesus? Do you think He was thankful to Jesus? SIMPLE TRUTHS: No person could help the blind man see, but he found out that Jesus could. When bad things or sad things, or hard things happen in our lives, we need to think about Jesus. Does Jesus care about us when we are going through something hard or sad? Should we ask Jesus to help us? Should we ask Jesus to make good things happen even when bad things have already happened? It may have been confusing when Jesus put mud on the man s eyes, but the blind man still obeyed Jesus. When we don t understand what Jesus is doing, should we still obey Him? Does Jesus love us? We should remember who Jesus is and all that He has done for us. Can you think of anything that Jesus has done for you? Do you want to thank Jesus for anything? Jesus is still doing wonderful things today because He loves people. Let s ask Jesus to do wonderful and amazing things in our lives. Let s tell Jesus that we love Him. The devil wants to hurt peoples lives with sin, but God wants to give us an abundant life that lasts forever with Him. Have you ever given your life to Jesus and asked Him to forgive you of your sins? Do you want to do that now? God will forgive your sins when you ask Him to and He will give you everlasting life.
