Methodists for World Mission Aims to... QUESTIONNAIRE for members and friends of Methodist for World Mission to help plan our future. Please help us take stock of where we are? How we understand our aims? How we should seek to fulfil them in 2008 and beyond? INTRODUCTION Methodist for World Mission is nearly a hundred years old. It traces its origins to a Wesleyan Methodist lay initiative following the 1910 Edinburgh Missionary Conference. This groundbreaking event played a large part in forging ecumenical relationships in mission work overseas. Originally the membership of MWM was all adult, all male, and all Methodist. It is now open to everyone who shares its aspirations and wishes to be better informed about the world church and our part in sharing the Christian faith. As an organization MWM has always been a close supporter of the Methodist contribution to Overseas Missions, but as the management structure of the Methodist Church changes we need to review our role. YOU are receiving this survey as someone who is a member of MWM or has attended one of its conferences in the past three years. Answers are anonymous (unless you choose to include your name in a comment box). If you prefer not to answer any particular question, please leave it blank. We would urge you to complete the survey so that the decisions made by the Management Committee will truly represent the views of members and friends. Couples can complete the survey once each if they choose. HELP US TO ENSURE THAT MWM FOCUSES ON GOD S MISSION FOR THE FUTURE AS AN INDICATION OF OUR VALUING THE LEGACY WE HAVE RECEIVED FROM THE VISION OF THE PAST.
