Resurrection Catholic Community Pastoral Plan 2018-2023 Resurrection Catholic Community is a Catholic parish family open to all people who wish to join us in our commitment to grow in Christ and to accept the challenges of loving service. As a Catholic family we all share in responsibility for the mission and needs of the community, each one of us according to the gifts that God has given us. Guided by the Holy Spirit in a prayerful process of community discernment, we give thanks for our many blessings, and we have identified our dreams that are part of God s dreams for us.

and Prayer God of the planting and of the harvest, we thank you for the many blessings you have poured out on our faith community. We hear you calling us now to rededicate ourselves to nurturing your vineyard here at Resurrection, to plant and to prune for an even greater harvest. As we count our blessings, dream and plan, we ask you for all that we need: Gratitude for all your many blessings The Holy Spirit to inspire us to dream new dreams The gift of discernment to guide us A deeper sense of shared responsibility Patience as your plan unfolds We seek to be faithful and faith-filled disciples of Jesus. May we continue to grow in Christ and to accept the challenges of loving service to one another and to the world. In Jesus name, Amen These are our community dreams. Let us embrace them and make them realities! What is God calling you to do?

Liturgy and Prayer We gather together to pray, praise and give thanks. A welcoming, inclusive, and nourishing community Sitting in the living room of the Lord We are spiritually fed and inspired to grow in Christ and to accept the challenges of loving service through creative and relevant liturgies Beautiful music opens our hearts to hear the Word of God God s Word is proclaimed and preached so well by our many ordained and lay Ministers of the Word Joining with other faith communities to build holy and loving relationships leading to works of justice Gather more young families to participate in liturgical ministries and roles, perhaps at regular children s liturgies Have Children s Liturgy of the Word more often by recruiting more catechists More youth sharing their musical gifts in a youth music group Attract more young adults to share their gifts at liturgy Greater involvement of the assembly in the rituals and sacraments of initiation Special Healing Masses A Risen Christ image on the wall behind the altar which expresses the joy and power of the Resurrection Media upgrades in our worship space, which may include video screens and an improved assisted listening system A Liturgy Council to help realize these dreams

Faith Formation We grow in the knowledge of Christ and his Gospel. Ongoing faith sharing groups Children and youth programs Bible studies Confirmation and RCIA programs Establish a regular young adult program More faith sharing groups More awareness of and participation in Spiritual Direction More scripture studies More involvement of the parish community in the RCIA program

Community Life We are a community, a parish family of faith, and we develop and nurture relationships with one another through social interaction. Supportive staff Vibrant, faith-filled, welcoming and inclusive community Meaningful liturgies and celebrations of sacraments Active organizations (Youth Group, Senior Ministry, Women s Guild, Knights of Columbus, COPA, homeless outreach, prison outreach, etc.) Special events that bring people together (dinners, St. Patrick s, faith formation, Seder meal, etc) Monthly bulletin insert about outreach organizations Create a way for small, common-interest groups to meet (both drop-in and ongoing groups), such as LGBT Catholics, Non-Catholics, Grief Group, young adult group, unmarried single adults, homeless people, single parents, etc. Continue to develop the Senior program so all seniors feel a part of the ongoing life of the church in addition to coming to church on Sunday Study how other churches are using social media and develop a social media plan to grow our membership and community life
