Rev. Mike Winters Pastor Ben Harding Music Director Dr. Ray Jones, Jr. Pastor Emeritus WISE BAPTIST NEWS A PUBLICATION FOR MEMBERS AND FRIENDS OF WISE BAPTIST CHURCH October 31, 2017 A place for faith and fellowship with family and friends. Dear church family and friends, In 1905, Albert Einstein discovered a theory that unlocked the power of the atom. Einstein also thought there was law that tied everything in the universe together. He observed, God does not roll dice. Things do not just randomly happen in our universe like a roll of the dice. Einstein believed, like many, that there is a supreme being, or force. This means belief in a creator, who set up laws that govern the universe, but is not directly involved in the lives of people. The Bible presents God as Creator, but much more. Einstein was possibly the most brilliant man of the 20 th century. The Apostle Paul was one of the most educated Jews of his day. Paul says this about God s Son in Colossians 1:15, 16, and 22: He is the image of the invisible God first born over all creation. For by Him all things were created now He has reconciled you by Christ s physical body through death to present you holy in His sight, without blemish and free from accusation. Jesus is the most complete picture of God in the Bible. God went to great lengths to send Jesus. Through Him, God opened the way for a personal relationship with us all. Therefore, what we do about Jesus does matter! Therefore, we have the command, the honor and the privilege to invite others to know Him, personally. All believers are to be witnesses about Jesus, to tell what we have seen or heard. How can we be a witness this week? There are many ways. Pray for those who do not know Jesus or do not have a church home. Personally, invite or accompany them to one of our many church activities. Love, Pastor Mike How to Join Wise Baptist Church: Express one of the following to the Pastor during the closing hymn: Transfer of Letter Transfer membership to Wise Baptist Church Baptism Desire to express faith in Christ through baptism Statement of Faith Baptized believer not on a membership roll Watch Care Desire to be connected to our Church family without official membership Important Dates Missions Committee November 1, 5pm Youth Shop for OCC Shoeboxes November 5 BCM Meal November 6, 11am-1pm Laurels Ministry November 9, 1:30pm Leadership Team Meeting November 9, 6:30pm Trip to Noah s Ark Museum November 11 Children s Snack-n-Paint November 11, 10am-12pm Church-Wide Breakfast November 12, 8:30am Parent-Child Dedication November 12, 11am Inside Announcements Page 2-3 BDays/Anniv.
